It, in my opinion, must. I've never used it on an original Gameboy because I don't have one. However, a quick Google search reveals that the original Gameboy requires a Y1 triwing.

On Amazon, you can find a variety of triwing screwdrivers, but I chose this one because of the close-up view. A machined precision tip on the end of the shank is visible in this close-up image of the product. The item I received appears to be identical to another triwing driver advertised on Amazon for roughly half the price. It gets two stars because it removes triwing screws, but a less expensive driver would have done the same thing. This is the second time in a row that I've ordered Chinese-branded goods on Amazon and received something other than what was advertised. In the future, I will be more cautious, and you should as well.
This is the one you've been looking for! Do not purchase the triwing screwdrivers with the dreadful red handle and black shaft! br>br>I replaced the shell on my DS Lite with this (not sure if it's the right size for the Switch). I didn't have any, and screws became boogered or stripped as a result. The screwdriver tip was not damaged in any way. The shaft remained securely attached to the handle. I purchased it from the "Two Brothers Game Store" seller, and it arrived in about a week, as opposed to a month or two from Chinese sellers.
Took the place of the thumbstick on an old GameCube controller. It worked perfectly with no damage to the driver or the screw.
I got into game and console repair as a hobby. It's required to open certain Nintendo consoles; if you don't have it, you're pretty much screwed. I've had other triwing screwdrivers in the past. Which were less expensive, and I received exactly what I paid for junk that snapped and was even rounded off. I haven't had that issue yet, despite the fact that I've used it extensively. This is the one to get if you're looking for a triwing tonopen console.
For working on small handhelds, this is an excellent screwdriver. Because I had used the ones that came with the installation packages and they kept breaking, I wanted to order this one. This one is made of a stronger material, but it took a little more effort to remove the screws at times.
With this, I was able to open the Wii and retrieve the SD card that the Child had fed to it.
I had purchased one of the low-cost red handle tri-fold tri-fold tri-fold tri-fold tri-fold tri-fold tri-fold tri To work on my Game Boys, I use wing screwdrivers. The red screwdrivers are useless; the head is almost too small, and it only takes a small amount of torque to strip out the tip. This one with the blue handle is the one you're looking for. This screwdriver is much more durable, and neither the screws nor the screwdriver are torn up.
For my Gameboy Advance Color, it works perfectly.
