Questions & Answers

One of the ls and the z are missing in this game that I bought from Target. I would like to order these two tiles. Where do I go to order them?

The whole set can be ordered for replacement however, you will need to order it separately. It was fun to have a lot of letters to play with, so I ordered an extra set. This adds to the interest in the game. Adding extra letters to your order is possible through Hope you have a great year!

Are they ever going to be in stock again? I came on here to buy today because of the swiveling table. I appreciate it. ?

It would be up to the place where you purchased it to answer that.

This type of tile is hard to stack
3/5

In fact, my husband and I have been playing upwards almost daily for more than 25 years now. In the past few months, I've noticed that the letters on the tiles have become harder to read after repeated use (and It was disappointing that the version of tiles that was the same scale as our current set only had 64 tiles when it should have had The grade I got was This piece set was described as an interlocking set not only because there were a lot of tiles, but also because they were very many. there is one major problem with the tiles they are small and really hard to stack, because there are four tiny pegs that stick out. It is challenging to place the pegs into the holes on the five tiles without the stack falling over.

It's a great game for families to play
4/5

This game can be played by my two children with the mental capacity needed. It's relatively low. Our child is nine years old and our child is six. He does a pretty good job with some help, even though one of them doesn't seem to be particularly gifted in forming words with the letters he has been given. This is a great little family game, and I like the fact that they can stack tiles and change the words without having to always add more words to the board. The only qualm I have (and this applies to most games in general) is that you would think the game would go back into the box, wouldn't you? Although it fits, the lid doesn't go all the way on and the box is a bit bulky. I don t think it would be a problem if the box was a few inches thicker. Other than that, it's a great game.

It's surprisingly good to see the one I remember being rebuilt
5/5

The last version I got was a little dated and I hesitated to replace it. The other way would be to go on eBay and pick up an old one from the 80s or 90s (whichever). It's actually a pretty solid build of the product, and it can be a fun alternative to Scrabble when you are used to playing it. As a family, we enjoy word games and this helps break things up in a logical, fun and familiar.

Despite the fact that I have always loved this classic game, the new version is poorly designed and cheaply made
3/5

I played Upwords with my grandmother all the time while watching The Price is Right as a young child. The game has been a favorite of mine for decades. It surprised me that the gameplay was exactly as I remembered. The game is a simplified version of Scrabble that is faster and simpler. You can drop just one or two tiles per turn and you will still score plenty of points since you can drop just a tile or two on the board. As I remember, I played the older version of this game with I am not satisfied with the board, the box, or the tile holders There are no grays or whites. My memory of it is etched in stone even though it wasn't the prettiest, especially by modern standards. Since the pandemic began, my girlfriend and I have been playing board games a lot, and I mentioned Upwords to her, and to my surprise, she had never heard of it before. It was not uncommon for me to find vintage versions at thrift stores which I was tempted to buy. There were always pieces missing, but I was always worried. I thought flowers and chocolate wouldn't make her happy, so I got her this instead. Although the box certainly looks a lot different than before, I quite enjoy its new look. You might not have heard of it before, but its overall redesign makes it look like a modern game that was released within the last My initial reaction upon opening the box was to be disappointed by how poorly designed and constructed everything was. It would be best to use a full border on the tiles to allow the tiles to stack neatly and securely on top of one another rather than a full frame- It had the following features in the older version A small dot or pip appears on each corner of each tile along with small indents on either side of the tile where they sit. If you knocked over a stack, you will have to remember to restack them to see what letters were played underneath. It may take some time to get them to sit flush. The tile stacking solution is cheap and not very effective. Unlike other tile surfaces, the tiles face are poorly stamped, with wavy lines and curves affixed to each letter. As well as this, the letters themselves have poor centering tolerances, which result in them looking terribly misaligned when being placed on tiles. The cheap aqua bag you're supposed to keep your tiles in? What's with that? There's a chance they're asking you to arrange the tiles so that they face each other Playing has always been done with them straight from the bag, but I have always drawn them from the bag as I replace letters. don't see this bag lasting more than a few games since it reminds me of the pouches Uncle Ben uses for microwavable rice. Is there something we can get made of cheap fabric, burlap, or felt There is a nice touch with the rotating board as I don't recall it being in my old Upwords. Although it doesn't feel smooth and feels cheap, it gets the job done and is also reliable. The game is still fun, but it feels like there were a lot of corners cut during the manufacturing process. You would do well to look for an older one on sale that has a more durable design if you're interested- It's always easy to find them at the second-hand store at my local - This is a hand store. Should you find that any of the tiles are missing, a quick search on the web yielded dozens of replacements. This refurbished version would still be much cheaper than going with this new one.

It's too bad for you
3/5

I think the game has a lot of potential to be fun, but they didn't really invest in forging the board scoring like in scrabble, and the board is too small to allow for challenging word combinations. Additionally, these things are so poorly made that you spend half your time just trying to keep the tiles on the board and rotate the thing with everything intact. In addition to being extremely thin and cheesy, the plastic is also very, very sticky. The product has a lot of potential, but it should have been made more expensive than it was and should have been made with better quality. This is not a game that I would purchase again and I am not sure how much we will play it.

Playing it is more fun than doing It is a totally different strategy than The words tend to be simpler and shorter for kids, making the game much easier to play
5/5

Despite being 7 years old, he knows how to do it very quickly and enjoys The only thing I would change would be that some letters like Z and N were a bit more distinct from one another. Otherwise, it was a great.

Playing the game is a lot of fun
3/5

This is a good product, but very This game has been a favorite of mine for years, and I wish I had the old version because it was so much I dislike only the cosmetic aspect of it That is a terrible feeling for me, and I have a very low tolerance for it. As far as I can tell, it's cheap plastic and spinning it somewhat like a lazy Susan is not something I want to deal with. It is a genuine spinning lazy Susan that I have put on the board. A label that reads Upwords was instantly visible on the face of the game. stuck it in and it was pulled out again shortly thereafter. The hole will remain open in the box if you can't press it to the wall. My final solution was to use shipping tape to hold.
