The size of the button is about one inch wide and an inch tall I would estimate it to be about 3/8 inch in length. I don't have any knowledge of materials, but they're made out of plastic, I believe. This is a very solid approach. My thoughts on the set are quite positive. It is a game we like to play, so I bought a few sets of it. Our other favorite use for these boards is for storing tiles.
My tiles don't fit inside the metal box, but I can put them in a plastic ziploc bag by pushing them up into the top. It is better to have a larger cloth bag than a small one.

This pressman rummikub tin was purchased in order to replace my cardboard box Pressman Rummikub set. My old set sometimes was difficult to distinguish between the black and blue tiles as well as between the red and orange tiles due to the size of the tiles and the colors they bear. With the new set, the tiles are larger and the colors are more distinguished. With this set, there is no such issue. The tin is also sturdy and nice to hold. On our other set, the cardboard box was fraying. It was a good investment for us to upgrade to the tin.
Having tried several versions of this game, I've found this one to be the best. It's also easy to manage and store due to its substantial size. In addition to the nice weight, the plastic tile holders make sure the tiles are secure, easy to see, and leave enough space between them. Despite its high overall rating, I did not give this set 5 stars because the red and orange tiles are rather difficult to discern from It would be better to switch the orange color to bright yellow.
There has never been a game as good as this. It is not unusual for every one who plays this game at my house to buy it for themselves later. The raccoon that lives with us even wants to join in.
Besides the fact that this set comes in a tin, which makes it very nice looking to put on display and even keep in a bookcase, I found that the numbers are recessed into the tiles, so that I preferred it. There was a complete crack on one side of the metal storage box in which it arrived. One of the plastic trays on the inside of the box was also I had to wait for it to be reshipped (the website said it was out of stock) because my husband and kids were dying for this game. As the shipping box was not damaged in any way, it is obvious that the item was damaged prior to shipping and they shipped it anyway. It was frustrating since I paid extra for the nicer tin case to store the game in. As our previous game had missing tiles, we decided to replace it with a newer one that we thought would be nicer, but instead I'm just annoyed to find that the bottoms always fall out whenever we play it. My response would have been to return it. However, we had already waited a long time to receive it, and quarantine times require that we take drastic measures.
A similar set had been given to me as a gift - I was purchasing this replacement set In the first set, one of the tiles was defective in that there were 3 of one tile and only 1 of another one. In this set, the tiles are fabulous. It is heavy, well marked, and clearly distinguishable from one color to another. It would be nice if there were more substantial racks like those in other sets, but the racks in this set are no better than others. Tile racks can now be raised so that no one can see how many tiles each player has, and be deeper so that tiles can't easily fall off It is much nicer to look at and feel the new tiles compared to my.
Although I think it's a fantastic game that even my 9 year old grandson loves, I believe they were sent a few too many orange 11s, and unfortunately they received a few too few.
I really like this product. I like the size and look of the numbers. There is no problem fitting tiles in racks. No one falls out of them. The tin is a very nice container for holding tiles and racks. I am very happy with the product I purchased.
