The water-resistant material resists stains and fading. Ideally, he'd thrive at the beach or in a swimming pool. Don't expect it to last forever, though, as it isn't as durable as one would hope. But for the price, it is a good deal.
This is a football that is approximately 10 inches across. It is 5 inches long and 7 inches wide. The ball is 5 inches thick and the center is the thickest part.

This football may sound like a good Nerf, but beware it's small. In a brick-and-mortar store, you would not normally purchase something as large as that.
This is absolutely not durable. As a result of regular play with this ball for around a month, it started cracking and then breaking apart. I would never recommend this ball to anyone. Nerf has great products that can take a beating on a regular basis, so I was surprised by this.
Though it looks nice, it feels good in the hands, but it is not tossable. There's nothing wrong with it -- it's A birthday gift for my grandson, whose dad threw the ball with him on his 8th birthday, turned out to be a disappointment. The Nerfs we used to have were much better!.
I expected the product to look and feel as good as it does. Nonetheless, it was not as durable as I wanted it to be as a football that was used outdoors regularly at recess. However, I'm not sure that a football made out of reinforced aluminum could stand up to the abuse that middle school boys give.
Playing with old pigskins is one of our favorite past times with my boys. The fact that it's squishy (safety) and it doesn't compromise the ball's flight like some cheap knock-off foam footballs is important to me as a 7 year old.
It was just fine. Just to catch the texture, the kid has a hard time catching it. It's ok to play around with it.
Fun to play at the park or in the backyard. Playing catch is one of their favorite things to do. They are 7yrs old and 10yrs old, respectively. Boys are able to throw it too because of its easy grip.
