We've put them away for the winter now, but they were possibly. From what I recall, the diameter was between 75 and 1 inch.
I suppose you could spray paint them, but depending on what you plan to do with them after that, the paint would most likely crack and peel off if the noodles were bent and actively used.
I'm afraid I'm unable to comment at this time. I do, however, use them outside all year. So I'll be able to provide an update on how they break down later.
We live in an area where the temperature ranges from 80 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. We usually try to store them away when not in use, but they do hang out in the sun for weeks at a time. No melting occurred, but the smaller caliber ones began to degrade, so we purchased these. They've been with us for three years and appear to be in good condition. Sorry, but I'm not sure what you're talking about with the melting!?

These were unfamiliar to me, but my mover recommended them as glass protection during a long-distance move. I couldn't find any locally, so I ordered these and WOW. With a box cutter, I slit them halfway down the middle and slid them over the edges of large glass tables and mirrors. They had a good grip, but I still taped them to the glass. No chips or scratches were found on any of my pieces when I arrived at my destination! Fantastic concept:.
These pool noodles are attractive in color and construction, but they are not particularly large. They're quite substantial. We had some extra large noodles on hand, and I was disappointed to discover that they were not the same size; I should have measured. It was a disappointment to pay more than $40 for the incorrect size. I would have returned had it not been for the rain, which had soaked the box. These are suitable if you do not require an extra large size.
These aren't extra large, and I mean that. They do the job, but in comparison to others who have Extra Large, these are just ordinary. the- You can get mill pool noodles almost anywhere. br>br>With the exception of the size, these DO WORK and appear to hold up fairly well.
I use them for something completely unrelated to their original purpose. I'm a paramedic who specializes in teaching First Aid/CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and Stop the Bleed classes. I divide them in half and distribute one to each student. In these COVID times, they can practice bandaging and applying tourniquets to the noodles rather than each other. Oh, the brilliance of my mind!.
The product description stated that these were extra large, so I ordered them. They are not very large, but they are medium in size, and the quality and sturdiness appear to be good, but I was disappointed with the sizing.
These were purchased to shield tarps from sharp edges. To keep things in order, we stack firewood against tposts. Tarps, on the other hand, are tossed around by the wind. The tarp is ripped apart by the tposts. Solution: Noodles. Place noodles over tposts after slicing down the length of the noodle. They can also be used to protect trees, to mark the edge of a parking area, and to avoid sharp corners catching on things. If you need to protect something with a bumper or cut them down, run a small rope through them and attach to anything you don't want to lose while out on the water, this is the way to go.
These are a little longer and thicker than most pool noodles, so I bought them. As a result, adults will benefit from these. I'm 6'4" and 250 pounds, and one of these holds me up well enough to dangle in the pool's deep end. We purchased a second set because we bring our own noodles on vacations and cruises and simply bend them to fit in our suitcases. Instead of extra shirts, I'd rather have one of these on vacation! lol.
We just got these for the pool season this summer. After only two months of use in our pool (and not even daily use), the noodles have already disintegrated and broken into several pieces. The noodles appear to be sponge-like in their ability to absorb water (you can literally squeeze water out of them). These are not something I would recommend.
