Questions & Answers

If you're under 150 pounds, are you able to hang on the rim?

My son and his friends did it on occasion, but only for a short period of time. When a friend hung for more than a second or two (and he weighed around 110 pounds), the whole thing fell into the pool. The problem isn't with the rim's quality. It's just like a regular basketball hoop's rim in terms of durability. The problem is that if you hang on to it long enough, you can pull the entire apparatus over. Even when the base is filled with water, it is not heavy enough for someone to hang for an extended period of time, and repeatedly pulling down on it can bend the rim.

I'm in desperate need of a new set of wheels! After two years, the backboard is still in good shape. However, the rim of the wheel snapped! I'm looking for a new rim, but don't know where to start. ?

Last summer, I had a similar issue. After a year, the rim was broken. I couldn't find a replacement anywhere on the internet, so I improvised by using a rim from an old backboard that the kids had never used. My husband had to drill some new holes in the cool jam backboard to accommodate the rim, but it was a simple and quick job. The new rim is much more durable than the old one, and it holds up much better when the kids are hanging on it.

Is the backboard made of aluminum and resistant to rust?

It's a big backboard. plastic with a heavy duty Very rust-resistant!

Everyone will enjoy it because it is stable, easy to assemble, and fun
5/5

I've had four different poolside basketball goals in the last 20 years. Every one of them had the same issue: When the ball struck the backboard, it twisted and the angle changed. It irritates me greatly! This is the first objective that fails to achieve this. It just works, and all of the kids and grandkids had a great time shooting hoops in the pool. The goal's design ensures that it is both stable and trouble-free. I was able to assemble it in 5 minutes, including filling the sides with water, as an added bonus. Great product, simple to put together, and enjoyable for all!.

At the most, it has a six-month life span
3/5

Spend less! I had this for less than a year when rust began to form and drip around the hoop after about 6 months. Around the same time, the internet went down, and I tried to contact the company via Amazon to get warranty information, but I never received a response. I would not recommend this or any other product from Swimline because of their poor customer service.

I'm not sure why I continue to buy this
3/5

In the last four years, I've completed three of these. THE RIMS AND BRACES ARE NOT GOING TO LAST. The metal brace is bending to the point of breaking. The hardware is not resistant to rust. br>Last year, I attempted to file a claim, but it was a few weeks past the year's end. This year, I'll make another attempt to obtain a replacement rim (why don't they just sell replacement rims?). ) due to the fact that it is still within the calendar year. Details are what make or break a project. Three failures on three rims.

Excitement quickly gave way to disappointment
3/5

If you're reading this review, you're probably like me and want to make sure you're not wasting your money. There are a variety of other water basketball hoops to choose from. I looked at all of the water hoops on Amazon and decided on this set after reading the reviews. I hope you found my review to be informative. br>br>Shipping: br>br>Shipping: br>br>Shipping: The delivery was extremely quick! We contacted the company and informed them that we needed this set for a party, and they quickly responded and assured us that it would arrive on time, which it did. The box was in perfect condition. br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: br>br>Install It only took about 20 minutes to set everything up. The instructions are simple and straightforward. (What we liked): br>br>(What we did not like): br>br>(What we did not like): SIZE - This is the ideal size for an in-home office. a pool beneath the surface The pool's height was just right, and it can be adjusted to three different heights. The highest setting was perfect for our pool. BACKBOARD SHAPE: The backboard edges are shaped to direct the ball back into the pool, unlike other hoops you may have seen. While I don't often miss: (This is a fantastic feature for keeping the ball in the pool. ) STRENGTH OF CONSTRUCTION: A more durable hoop set under $500 is hard to come by. The sides fill with water and help to keep the hoop in place. When the set is full of water, it does not move. br>br> (Things we don't care for): DECAL FOR THE BACKBOARD - There was an 8" rip in the one that came with our package. We probably wouldn't have used it even if it hadn't ripped. It's a low-cost promotional sticker that would quickly fade. You'll notice in their photo that the company name is the only thing on the backboard, rather than a square like on other backboards. On our set, we decided to paint a box, which turned out to be a great idea. BOTTOM MADE OF PLASTIC - The water tanks that run along the sides of the hoop set help to keep it in place. Plastic is used to line the bottom of these tanks. If you're setting up your set on concrete, be careful not to drag or slide, as this could easily damage the tank. For added protection, we used a can of HD spray rubber to coat the bottom of each tank. It's strong and won't slide unless you force it. QUALITY OF THE RIM: We were able to look past the other minor flaws until the rim became the deciding factor. If you're still reading, know that the rim is low-cost and won't last long. Unfortunately, the company scrimped on quality here, which is what has reduced the product's value from excellent to mediocre. After three days, all of the screws started to rust, and I've included photos of day three with this hoop. This rim is supported by a very low-cost bracket. It is easily bendable. We don't allow dunking on our set, but after four weeks, the hoop has bent to the point where it needs to be replaced. The ball colliding with the front of the hoop causes it to bend. They come with a lightweight pool ball (a little heavier than a beach ball), which should suffice if you only use it. We also ordered the pool basketball that Amazon recommends with this set. We prefer this other ball, but it has bent to the point where it needs to be replaced after about 100 hits to the front of the rim. Although the price is reasonable and everything else about this set is excellent, you should be aware that you will need to purchase a new (better) rim to replace the cheap one that comes with it. br>br>I've contacted the company for feedback on the ripped sticker and rim rust, and I'll post an update as soon as I receive it. Should you get this set? br>br>Is it worth it? Yes, if you want to stay under $500, but find a better rim and put it on the first day. I'm going to order a new rim and will let you know which one I choose.

Because we live in a cold part of the country (Upstate NY), we were able to take advantage of it during the summers of 2014 and 2015
3/5

In July of 2014, I made a purchase. Because we live in a cold part of the country (Upstate New York), we were able to take advantage of it in the summers of 2014 and 2015. I use the term "summer" to refer to the months of June through August. Our pool season is short, so September is the best time to visit. Over the winter, it was kept dry and safe in a secure location. Let me begin by saying that the concept is fantastic. This item is extremely durable. My kids (both older and younger) and their friends play with it all the time; in fact, I'd say the toy is used every time someone enters our pool. This is most likely the best $200 I've ever spent on a pool toy. One point to consider is that when people shoot, the ball frequently bounces out of the pool, but I don't see how this could be avoided with this design. We just have to work on our shooting, I guess. The Cool Jam Pro is a 5 on a scale of fun! br>br>Where the Cool Jam Pro falls short of a perfect score is in terms of how well it has held up over the course of my 15-month ownership. Please look at the photos. It appears to be quite revolting. Again, it was only used for about 8 months during that time and was stored the rest of the time indoors. My issue is with the net and the rim. and RUST. The first summer we had it, the net didn't last. We bought a net from a local sporting goods store to replace it. Early this summer, I noticed that the rim of the hoop had begun to rust, which was dripping down the front of the hoop and discoloring the coping and concrete around our pool. A pool toy (where the manufacturer is aware that the toy will be used near water) should, in my opinion, be treated in such a way that this does not occur. I contacted the company, but they refused to replace the hoop for free because I had already used up their 1-year warranty. a one-year warranty They offered to sell me a replacement hoop for $35, but I declined because I'm afraid the same thing will happen again. This was disappointing because I didn't believe Swimline stood behind their product, but hey, you live and learn. br>br>It's a lot of fun. YES. A toy that can withstand being used near a pool. PERHAPS NOT. If I had it to do over, I would spend a little more money and get something with a longer warranty.

Great Basketball Pool in the Backyard
4/5

It's simple to assemble, sturdy, and the backboard is large enough to hold a regulation-size basketball. There are only two problems to be concerned about. The first is that the decal is fantastic, but it fades with time; I'm trying to locate a replacement, but the company appears to be out of stock. The rim comes next, and it's a lot more important. Because the rim rusts and appears to bend over time, I sought out a replacement rim from a different manufacturer that was much stronger and had a rust-resistant finish.
