Although the panels are not very durable, I still give it five stars for durability because the castle itself is very durable. We find it very easy for kids to take off the panels, and I find that we have been putting them back on regular basis since the little tabs that keep them in place are easy to remove. Because they are very thin, I plan on buying sheet of plexiglass and installing it over them to keep them from getting damaged (and to prevent the kids from taking them off) . In addition, if you have a climber, you shouldn't put flower boxes on it. Due to my three and a half year old's insistance, I had to take them down. It was the perfect place for tiny toes to rest.
