A great book for a child with a sense of adventure and a big imagination! He loves the lantern because it lights up and he uses it frequently. The fire is the reason this one came to us. Getting this as a gift for a 3 year old turned out to be a fabulous gift! It is so creative to include so many different components in one design All of these are fantastic, ranging from the fire with cricket sounds to the ability to "cut" the vegetables on the cutting board, to roasting s'mores, binoculars, and lantern. Before opening it, it wasn't clear that you need more than 3 AA batteries for the fire and two for the lantern. I found the bag to be a great storage solution for all the little items. The pieces included were unclear as to what they were meant to be. The 3 year old didn't seem to I would recommend taking a kid camping to get them used to it!.

The quality is awful and the price is so low. Even after trying two different sets of batteries in each of the battery-operated components, neither of them work. The sticks don't go through the fake food, the holes are small, and most are partially covered with rough cuts.
