Instead, I looked at the photos on the product's Amazon page, which I attached here. (1) Attach the rings to a carabiner that is attached to the bottom (uncoated) chain link. (2) Attach a second carabiner to the (coated) next adjacent chain link, and then attach the trapeze to it. br>br>When it's all put together, the trapeze hangs from one chain, which makes it look a little janky. The bars came from one link, and the link came from the other. I went back to Amazon and looked at competing products, and the others appear to be more elegant because their rings attach to the trapeze's bottom. I'm not sure why the manufacturers recommend using two different carabiners. Why don't they tell you to use the same carabiner that holds the trapeze to hang the rings? Is it due to a flimsy carabiner? Why didn't they choose a carabiner with more strength? Is it because a more powerful carabiner would be too big to fit between the chain links? I'm not sure what I'm saying. In any case, I've only put the thing together and haven't given it to my kids to play with yet. I'll let you know how it worked out in practice in a few weeks.
Except for the bottom and top links, all of the links are plastic coated. The bar is supposed to be three links above the rings, but that would require removing the coating.
We weren't sure what to expect because this was the cheapest item of its kind, and the old one (different brand, same thing) had worn out after a few years. This one has a longer chain to hang it on, which the kids like, and it's simple to swap out for the old one. It appears to be of long lasting quality. It's been up for nearly two months now.
It has the potential to be almost fantastic. If it weren't for the fact that I can't get the hooks through the chain link on one chain, I might be able to do it. One of them is appropriate, while the other is not. I've been trying to open the link but haven't been able to do so. It's frustrating because my daughter was looking forward to having it as part of our play set.
I requested an exchange because the first one had a defect that prevented it from being put together, and the replacement arrived with the same problem. With the help of a hammer and pliers, I was able to fit the rings through the chain holes. Clearly a faulty product, but the price was right, so I tweaked it to fit our needs.
rings that can be removed! The apparatus is very nice and sturdy. We purchased this because we already owned a coated metal trapeze with rings from a "name brand" manufacturer - However, the rings were not removable, and they kept bumping the head and elbows of the 5-year-old. We also have an older child who enjoys wearing rings, so it's convenient to be able to adjust the separator bar and remove rings as needed. For even more fun, we attach it to a buoy ball.
It's only been a month, and it's already broken. You'd think that something made of metal wouldn't break, but the chain's links twisted. My two children are nearly two years old and five years old, respectively. They aren't rough enough, nor do they weigh enough, to bend something that should be strong.
It took less than 4 minutes to put it together. I'm confident that all of my nieces and nephews will use it for a long time.
