Selected User Reviews For Kite Tail (Multi-Colored)
Instead of using it with a kite, I bought it to attach to a flexible pole and have the streamer dance majestically through the air like a luckdragon, as I used to do when I was a kid. It's a hit with the youngsters. They love running around the spiraling streamer while I yell at them not to get too close to the pole or they'll get whacked in the head. I used a 10' telescoping "crappie pole," and the streamer was attached to the small loop on the pole without the use of any additional hardware. br>br>The fabric is a rip-stop nylon. Stop fabric is a good value, though it isn't the strongest. It comes with a small plastic pouch, but in my fumbling, I've already shattered it. Winding up 49 feet of kite tail is a little tedious, but I'm sure there's a clever way to do it. Mint's provided excellent service. br>br> I received my package in less than a week after placing my order.
This is a continuous length of taffeta/organza that has been printed. Similar to banner cloth, but not ripstop. The stitching and hems appear to be of high quality, and it is light in weight, so it should be sufficient for the intended use. It'll be interesting to see how it performs in the rain. Water is repelled by the coated ripstop fabric. This? So far, I'm not sure. It's difficult to find fault at such a low price- much. The listing needs to be updated.
However, it is currently out of stock. As a result, I'm left waiting. I chose the color green to contrast the Blue Sky and White Clouds with the Tree Leaves, Grass, and Hills, so I'll be flying it at sunrise. br>br>I'm going to add Mini Lights to the Tail and fly it under the stars at night.
I just got the kite tail and haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it arrived quickly and appears to be well made. It came in its own reusable plastic ziplock bag, which is ideal for storing it in your kite bag. For this level of craftsmanship, it's an excellent value. When I run out, I'll place another order.
It comes in its own tough clear plastic bag and is extremely long. I have two of these, and I use them on a variety of kits. Both of these tails are shown on an Into the Wind Delta Mesa kite, but they will fit any kite that requires or uses a tail as an accessory. Because they're so long, winding them up and putting them back into the bag takes a while, but that's to be expected.
This kite is the right weight for my kite, but it was so long that it was difficult to get off the ground. I ended up cutting it and tying it all together into three strands that are each about 16 feet long - There have been a lot of improvements in terms of flight quality. I figured I couldn't make a better one out of scraps for the same price.
It appears to be well constructed and it appears to be in excellent condition. I'm looking forward to getting some fresh air.
All seams are folded over and sewn to ensure durability.
