Christmas was a time for him to get a phone like this. Using the internet, I looked for a corded office type phone, and this seemed to fit what he wanted best. I really like how well-built this device is, since it has nice features like programmable phone numbers, recording options, and the ability to record your own voice a bit pricier than what I was expecting to pay, but as I mentioned, phones like these are hard to find nowadays. My children enjoy this toy very much and I would recommend it to them.
My wish is however, that the app can be updated to allow multiple phone numbers to be programmable and to allow the child to hear the numbers being touched while the parent programs the number. The other way around, it's a great learning tool to use on a pretend play day.
A recorded message plays when the numbers are dialed, so that when they dial the numbers, they hear the message I have programmed. Having the ability to record new messages and hear themselves play back is absolutely a favorite! Many toys are just plain loud and not adjustable in volume. The volume adjuster is a godsend since many toys have an extremely loud volume. Taking it out of the box, it was ready to use right away since batteries were included! There are no distortions in the sound and the construction is excellent. I highly recommend this product!.
In just a few short years, it has been played with by over 100 kids. Using the school number on the phone is what I did. ACA Primary loves interacting with clients over the phone and hearing "Thank you for calling ACA Primary!" The school number has even been memorized by some! This center has always been a favorite in my classroom, and I am sure that it will continue to be!.
There is one real problem with the phone (the speaker is on the unit), and that is you can't hear through it. Making it less realistic is not a good thing. If the company attempted to fix this, I am sure it would be very difficult. Even after all these years, the phone is still cute and unusual.
