My son found the toy almost hypnotic, and definitely worth the $10 I paid for it. I consider this something that can be thrown away very quickly and easily. While there are some reviews that weren't great, I actually found this to be quite impressive. Thanks to its rechargeable nature, there are no batteries to worry about. Once you turn it on, the back of the device lights up with the sound of music. Depending on your preference, you can choose sleep music, babies' music, numbers, or fruit music. A nice light for younger children and is very easy to use. No sharp edges, so it's great for babies! A decent volume and a bunch of great songs, like bingo, 10 little Indians, Jingle Bells, etc. You can also use a number pad. While it's on the charger, the one that doesn't work is making an odd buzzing noise. As soon as you plug in the two that work, they make a BEEP sound to confirm charging has begun. After even a minute on the charger, the devices will light up and begin working at once! It will not work at all if it's broken. A replacement is on its way to me since I've already returned the first one. It's my hope they work and that they weren't wasted.

You get a lot for your money with this product! We are enjoying it so much with my eight month old granddaughter! has no idea what it does, but she's amazed by how it changes music, sounds, colors, etc. It's not high tech, but it's just right for a baby who insists on holding everyone's cell phone.
