Questions & Answers
Because I've never taken it outside, I can't give you an honest answer. My 5-year-old Great-Grandson is someone I know. Granddaughter has a lot of fun with it. br>She adores it, and it's extremely long-lasting. I searched for a long time before discovering it on Amazon, and I am very pleased with my purchase.
Although the mailbox is large, we were only able to fit postcard-sized cards inside. We inserted cards, but they had to be bent slightly. It is extremely popular with the children.
Standard-size greeting cards are too large, and a business-size envelope is too long.
Using a paper towel, place the crayon mark on top of the paper towel and iron the paper towel. It works to remove candle wax from carpet, so I'm sure it'll work for crayons as well.

br>Within two hours of unboxing, the mailbox door had broken off. As if that wasn't bad enough, the supplied fictitious letters are also one-of-a-kind. time use. If you're only interested in having a good time for a day, go ahead and do it. br>However, I'll be wary of buying any Ms from now on. D is the grade.
We gave it to our five-year-old for his birthday, and the flap was broken off within two days. We love Melissa and Doug toys because they're always super durable and last forever, but we were extremely disappointed with this product--I knew it was going to happen as soon as I took it out of the box-- It's simply shoddy workmanship.
This was purchased for my 4-year-old son to encourage him to read words and phrases. He enjoys it and is always looking forward to finding his daily note. To make it look more realistic, my husband added a wooden stand. We even decorated it for the holidays, and he'll write Santa a letter. Although the included crayons aren't my favorite, the cards work well with dry erase markers and washable crayons. It is exactly what I was looking for.
This is something I use in my middle school. My husband cut a slit in the back of it with a jigsaw to prevent students from touching it and opening the door. The door has been repositioned so that it is now facing the wall. This way, students can still leave me notes without fear of them being seen by others. It's just the right size to sit on a desk for quick notes without taking up too much space.
This is an outstanding product. Our family will remember this as a great memory, and we will continue to use it. We had a Fmaily evening where we wrote letters to each other. I bought one set for each Fmaily member, and we all sat around the table decorating our mailboxes, then writing encouraging notes to each other and delivering them. It was a lot of fun, and the kids didn't want to stop playing until we ran out of things to do. The plastic letters that came with it didn't erase very well, but we replaced them with different paper stationary, which worked out perfectly. We also got some fake stamps with vintage images on them and taught the kids how to address an envelope. They could have stayed up all night if they wanted to. We all had a lot of fun with this, so we put them up in the living room with a basket next to them containing the fake stamps and extra stationary for future use if anyone needed an encouraging note or just for fun. My 7-year-old son kept thanking me for purchasing these and allowing us to spend the evening together. Both boys and girls are six years old. 7), as well as both of their parents ) I had a lot of fun with this and continue to have fun with it: ) I appreciate it.
This mailbox is a favorite among the grandkids (ages 3 and 4). It's been about a year since we got it. The door's plastic hinge, which is light and easily broken, is a design flaw. I tried to order a replacement hinge from Melissa and Doug's customer service, but they don't have any. To secure the door, I used tape - works OK. It's a bummer that the part isn't available. The customer service representative was excellent - despite the fact that I was unable to order a part.
Decorating it with my daughter was a lot of fun. She exchanged Valentine's cards with her classmates at school on Valentine's Day. My three-and-a-half-year-old daughter enjoys it immensely. I occasionally leave a treat for her and raise the flag so that when she sees it, she knows there's something tasty inside.
Standard sized greeting cards, but not 3x5 cards and envelopes, fit in this mailbox. Regarding the crayons' negative reviews, they are dry-erase crayons. Erasable crayons made specifically for use with the cards, envelope, and letter that come with the set. They're fantastic. I like that it includes stickers to decorate the mailbox's side. This is a fantastic toy in every way. It is something that I would suggest.
