Two different players stopped working after eating tapes
3/5

For two weeks, it was a hit. Then it began to eat and destroy tapes. When I bought it, I bought it with a product insurance policy, and I've filed a claim for repairs and replacement. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> So far, the Asurion insurance policy I bought to cover this item has proven to be a complete waste of money. I have yet to have the issue resolved despite numerous phone calls and visits to their "simple" online page. You can save a lot of money by skipping this one, as well as the insurance. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> These are for my mother, and I bought two. Neither of them are functional. The Asurion insurance is set up in such a way that you won't be able to contact them if you need to file a claim. I eventually gave up on them both and declared the money a total loss.

They haven't figured out how to make them in a long time! This product was disappointing because it sounded good when recorded and played back
3/5

The issue is that it only happened a handful of times! On rare occasions, it recorded and played back flawlessly. It didn't work the following time. Alternatively, it may have recorded but not yet played back! You must be very close to the mic, whether using an external mic or the built-in mic, or it will be completely lost. I've been using cassette players for years with no problems and ordered this recorder via express mail. It didn't come with any protective packaging, just the box it came in, so it could have been damaged during shipping. I returned it, however, and would not recommend this product to anyone. Regrettably, they no longer appear to know how to make them.

Inferior
3/5

The quality of the product is poor. When the volume is turned up, the transformer hum can be heard. br>The plastic cassette lid does not close properly, and recording and playback are full of background noise. br>When the volume is turned up, the transformer hum can be heard. br>There is no such thing as a hidden cord. br>The only thing that works is the USB mp3 player. br>In conclusion, do not purchase.

When I first got it, it didn't work properly
3/5

After doing more research, you may decide to buy a brand-name player. This player/recorder was purchased to replace a similar Radio Shack recorder that had served me well for more than two decades. The recorder arrived unprotected in the store box. There was no damage to the recorder when I examined it; When I compare it to the old recorder, however, I can tell it was poorly made right away. I decided to give it a try and started listening to my cassette tapes. It damaged two of my tapes on the first day of use, rendering them unusable due to the jammed player. At this point, I made the decision to return the player in exchange for credit. Amazon has agreed to refund my purchase price, which I intend to use to buy a Sony cassette player. This player, in my opinion, will not be able to withstand the demanding environment of a classroom full of young children.

It doesn't work in any way
3/5

Batteries are made in such a strange way that it's nearly impossible to get them to stay put. I'm looking for something that doesn't need to be plugged in, but it also doesn't work when it is. A $43 paperweight in the shape of a tape recorder was sold to me. It appears that I will be forced to use my old tape- For the time being, I'm destroying the tape recorder, but it does record and playback. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! br>br> BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS A MISTAKE!.

It's the closest thing to an original "shoebox-style" shoe
4/5

tape recorder in the "style" This cassette recorder is far superior to the smaller, hand-held "walkman-style" cassette recorders in terms of quality and durability. China-made "style" recorders Yes, it's made in China as well, but with a higher quality focus. It's not as good as Panasonic or Sony's previous cassette recorders, but it gets the job done. This model can play MP3 audio files from a USB thumb drive as well as record and playback cassette tapes. It also has a microphone input (with or without a remote switch) that can be used to record with a hand-held or lavaliere microphone. It also has two 1/4-inch phone outputs, which can be used to connect up to two headsets. My unit has a problem with the volume wheel, which goes from silent to loud without the usual gradual increase and decrease in volume. This could be a problem specific to my unit (which I hope it isn't). I'm digitizing my cassettes with one of the unit's headphone outputs connected to my small Olympus digital audio recorder. Since three of the walkmans were hand-held, I'm only using this Hamilton Buhl unit in conjunction with my Olympus mini digital recorder to convert my cassettes to MP3 files because style player/recorders didn't work for me in converting cassettes to MP3 files (I got refunds/credits on all three). When one of my 120-minute classes ended, something unusual happened. This unit ate minute cassettes (90-minute cassettes). 60-minute minimum Because of the 120-minute limit, only min cassettes should be used. min. 60- 1 minute for each side have a very thin tape that can be wrapped around the capstan roller) I was able to unscrew the screws that held the bottom of the recorder together, remove the ruined tape, and re-assemble the recorder. Replace the bottom and adjust the rubber pulley. The recorder is in perfect working order. With one of those hand-held walkmans, you'll have a hard time doing this. tape recorders in the style of Repairing those smaller units' cheaper manufactured parts is impossible. That last one, which I attempted to fix, ended up in the trash. Because of the volume control issue and the less-than-ideal audio quality, I'm giving this Hamilton Buhl recorder four stars. In the end, however, I believe it is well worth the money.

The quality of the product is poor
3/5

I've bought a few for a blind person in the last few years. There isn't a lot else to choose from. The sound isn't great. They don't last long, with the most recent one lasting only two weeks. Returning would be too much of a hassle. I'm looking for something simple, long-lasting, and functional.

Voice recording is not permitted
3/5

I bought it to record the meetings of the city council. The quality of the recordings was poor. The recorder's background noise (tape drive motor) was so loud that the recordings were useless. I even tried using a microphone from outside the house. Other reviews indicated that the same issue had been reported. Since this recorder has a five-star rating, I assumed those reviews were only applicable to their tape recorders. The tape recorder itself appears to be of reasonable quality. I recommend that the manufacturer take note of these comments and address the noise issue. I'm returning the tape recorder and looking for a new one from a different company.
