The first one we got broke after a few days, and the package didn't include any templates. The replacement included three blue sheets with yellow letters (the size of a half sheet of paper) - There will be one capital letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. To be honest, the coloring doesn't match the board very well; I'd just print my own on white/black paper instead.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. No, that is not a feature of this Boogie Board. Boogie Board for the Team

Pro's: Its biggest selling point for me was the potential for tracing. It was light weight, easy to handle for little hands, and easy to reset the screen.
Cons: Major: br>Major: br>Major: Major: Major: Major: Major THE STYLUS IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE BOARD IN ANY WAY. While the stylus has a place in the board, there is no string connecting it to the board when you take it out to use it, so unless you have a very anal child, they will lose it almost immediately. It's not the end of the world because any object can be used to draw on it, but they could have added a string for nearly $30. I ended up drilling a hole through the stylus and the frame to insert my own string (fortunately, the back side of the frame is clear, so any electronic components are easily avoided). br>Plus, here's a bonus idea: It says 4 and up due to a risk of swallowing, but the only thing that could be swallowed is the stylus, which would not be a risk if it were attached!br>br>Minor: The tracing templates they provided are made of thin cardboard that can easily be folded, warped, or stained. They could have laminated or given plastic ones for the same price. br>br>To summarize: I don't regret purchasing it, but I believe it was overpriced for the quality. My son isn't playing with it as much as I'd like, but that isn't because of the toy.
UPDATE FROM TWO YEARS AGO: I contacted the manufacturer shortly after writing this review and received a replacement board that had been updated to prevent this from happening in the future. My now 5-year-old still enjoys stealing dinosaurs with incredible attention to detail after more than two years. We've been without a stylus for a long time and have yet to replace it. This did not last long. br>br>Excellent product, company, and customer service. br>br> We attempted to replace the batteries after they wore out, which took about 4 months, and the device is now fried. I looked it up to see if I had done something wrong, and it turned out that this was a fairly common occurrence. Others had encountered the same issue when attempting to replace the batteries and discovered that they were no longer functional. I contacted the company, and they will [hopefully] send out a replacement.
updated! Previous review has been updated: The product came without the battery cover at first, but Amazon quickly sent me a replacement. br>I have to say, this is the ONE toy I'm willing to buy for BOTH of my children. This is a fantastic toy that they both enjoy playing with on a regular basis. I am the mother of two young children, ages six and three. We got our first one when my oldest was about three years old, and she enjoyed doodling on it (as did mommy). After our son was born, he began doing it as well, eventually taking over. We finally bought another one after they shared/fought over it for a few months. We carry these items around with us at all times. We recently took a 9-hour road trip, and these came in handy! Both kids spent hours playing with it, which helped us get through a significant portion of the journey! I have to say that it is assisting my son in writing his letters and numbers, as well as impressing anyone who sees what he is capable of. The only thing I wish for is for the pens to be attached in some way. It's nothing, though, that a strand of string won't fix. We've had these for a long time and are proud to say that the original pens are still with us! I only did the string trick recently because it was getting thrown around the car. Once again, this is an excellent gift for children (and adults)! br>br>I really like this product, but my battery cover was missing. Waiting for a replacement, but it's difficult for my three-year-old to put it in because the batteries keep popping out!.
This year, my daughter's kindergarten teacher requested that this board be used in the classroom. She already had a few, but she needed a few more, so her parents pitched in. My 5-year-old daughter is reading and writing after seven weeks of school and says she loves the boogie board, so it appears to be useful. (As a side note, my daughter's teacher informed me that she had caught her drawing pictures instead of writing her words, so it appears to be useful for drawing as well. ).
He despises using pencils for writing. Markers are sloppy, and he despises getting ink on his hands. This device is ideal for him. He adores the fact that he is able to write in a "magical" manner. " He appreciates how the button vanishes when he presses it. The writing is a little shaky, but it gets the job done, he enjoys it, and it'll serve as a good bridge until he's more at ease with pencils.
The Boogie Board has a hole through which it can be inserted, as well as a cool blue screen, Triple A batteries, and an attractive design. It wasn't, however, in the way I had anticipated. First and foremost, THE PEN DOES NOT STAY ON ITS HOLDER, which is my MAIN PROBLEM. It will only stay on if you carefully, I mean carefully, place a notch in the horrible holder. Next, the screen is so blue and transparent that you can't see what you've written when you put it near a computer or an IPAD. To see it, you'll need to put it on a white background. Also, because it's circular, you can't draw straight lines without going against the curvy outside, and to recharge the batteries and repair the board and how it works, you have to unscrew every part of the back. br>br>I would recommend purchasing this, with the exception of the pen holder, which needs to be repaired.
My five-year-old daughter was overjoyed when she received this as a birthday present. Unless it's on a dark surface, it's extremely difficult to see the writing on it. Although I enjoy the tracing feature, I would not have purchased it if I had known how difficult it would be to see. We also received the bright boogie board, which comes with a variety of pens. a significant improvement Because you can see what you're coloring, it's a lot more enjoyable to use. I enjoy doodling on it as well!.
It worked fine for about a year before abruptly ceasing to erase. It did not help to change the batteries. When I click to erase, it only erases a portion of the image, so I can get it to look okay by clicking to erase about 50 times. I enjoyed it, but I can't recommend purchasing something that breaks down for no apparent reason. It could have been dropped by a child, but it's clearly designed for children, so I'm sure it's built to withstand some abuse.
