I did have to buy thicker shoelaces because the ones that came with it are very thin, and my 3-year-old grandson struggled to thread them through the holes. It's funny, I never thought of them as anything more than lacing beads, but he got creative and lined them up by color and shape on the table. br>Hard plastic with a good grip. When he's done playing, the bag they come in is ideal for stowing them away. Because they are small enough to be a choking hazard, I recommend that they be supervised; otherwise, this is a fantastic toy!.
I'm not going to buy anything else: I'm disappointed in the quality of this product, which I bought as a gift, because the beads are smaller than Melissa's. Doug is a bead salesman for them. set of strings In fact, I was looking for a regular-looking pair of shoes. I was looking for smaller beads (than these) but couldn't find any in a set, so I went with these. I suppose they do the job, but the beads and laces appear to be of poor quality! The laces appear to be prone to unraveling with only light use. To be honest, I was a little embarrassed about giving this set as a gift, but I didn't have time to make something else before my niece's birthday. I recommend buying the beads and laces separately from Michael's/Dollar Tree and making your own set. Shoelaces that aren't too thick will suffice.
To begin, I'd say that if there were enough of the same colors, this would have been pretty awesome. Only two reds (a square and a triangle) were included in my kit. As a result, I'm a little let down. A yellow one was a little discolored when it arrived. As a result, my son shied away from it. He must believe it is filthy. Overall, I believe it is acceptable for children to learn to engage in some structured activities.
These beads are a favorite of our 2-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter. I purchased them to aid in the early development of her hand-eye coordination, and they were successful. Her favorite thing to do is make necklaces for her Bubbe. br>Excellent results.
This was purchased to aid in the development of fine motor skills in my 3-year-old twins. It is a huge hit with them! I really like the storage bag that comes with it! It's well worth purchasing for your children, grandchildren, or as a gift.
I should have read the description more carefully. I expected them to be a little bigger and wished they were made of wood. They appear to be a necklace around the neck of a girl in one of the photos; however, appearances can be deceiving. Will most likely give it away and replace it with a larger wooden set.
A present for my four-year-old granddaughter. They are also well-liked by the other children. Keep an eye out for choking hazards in the younger children.
