This fire station doll house has served us well for the past year and a half. br>br>PROS: This is a high-quality item. br>br>CONS: This is a high-quality item. br>br> br>1) It was simple to assemble. I completed it in one evening with no frustration because the instructions were clear. 2) It is EXTREMELY STRONG. As a 3-year-old, our son used to play with it. Nothing has broken in a four-year-old's life - There was nothing on the house itself, and none of the furniture was missing. That's an incredible fact; he's not rough with his toys, but he is a small child. br>3) It's vibrant, with no faded, chipped, or peeled colors. A painting of a recycle bin hangs on one of the walls in the kitchen. It's just a happy atmosphere everywhere. br>4) It has a "lazy susan" bottom piece that rotates for 360-degree play, making it ideal for use in a small space or on a table. CONS: MILD br>br>CONS: MILD br>br>CONS: MILD br>br br>1) The two firefighter figures are rubber, but not bendy, so they can only perch out of the firetruck and recline on the bunk beds. This isn't a big deal for my son because he has other toy people around the house. The firefighter guys don't bother him. br>2) The firetruck ladder has an extension without a catch or attachment, so it floats around the house. My son, once again, is unconcerned. SUGGESTIONS: br>br> br>1) Attach the lazy susan turner to the house's foundation with Velcro. This keeps it attached while also ensuring that it is not a long-term decision. It would be fantastic if the manufacturer included some 2" wide velcro strips for this purpose. br>2) Remove or re-design the chimney. It doesn't have a latch, so it's just another large piece of furniture. br>br>Overall, this toy is a huge success. It's our first KidKraft purchase, and I'd do business with them again.

I had no issues with assembly, but I do have a few issues: 1) the "lazy susan" does not attach to the Fire Station, and it doesn't take much for the Fire Station to be bumped off, 2) the helipad on the top does not attach to the roof, but rather there are two groves that it fits into, and it's only a matter of time before it's removed, and 3) the desk and the vanity each have a removable tray and drawer, which have If you don't want to be able to slide out the keyboard tray or vanity drawer, or raise and lower the ladder, you can fix all of these issues with a little wood glue or super glue. I believe it is short-sighted of the company to design a product for children with parts that are easily removed and lost when having them attached would not detract from the product's quality. Another issue is that one of the Fire Station doors will not close all the way once the second floor is tightened, but my son doesn't mind. br>br>The characters are fine; they aren't creepy in the least. They are bendable but very stiff, making it a little difficult to pose them. The dog, which is also bendable, has all four paws flattened out and has yet to be successfully bent so that it can stand up. My son, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind, and I'm hoping that with time, these things will become easier to adjust to, as the Fire Truck and Helicopter appear to be well-made. Another reviewer mentioned the helicopter breaking, which I could see happening, but everything seems to be fine so far. We've only had it for a few weeks, but my initial impression is that it's well-made and will last a long time; I'll update this review if that impression changes. Overall, I think it's a good choice.

My grandson is enamored with his fire station! It's a fantastic playhouse for a toddler who enjoys fire trucks and firehouses! The included truck, on the other hand, was flimsy and ineffective. (Whittle World Fire Rescue set) I purchased another Melissa and Doug fire engine. Her prefers that one and can use it to pretend to be a firefighter putting out a blaze and rescuing a person and a cat from a "burning" house. Because the figures are on a similar scale, they can be used with that engine as well. I also purchased the Fireman Sam 5-figure set, which is much more articulated and can sit and use the firehouse furniture. The fire station is a good choice, but you'll probably want to replace the fire engine and add some fully articulated figures.

My son enjoys playing with his sister, but she only has princess castles; he always wants to play with the boy characters and drive the cars, etc. , and is drawn to more masculine play, so this is the ideal "dollhouse" for him without making him feel like he's playing with "girly" toys. It takes some concentration to put it together because of the colored screws that match the painted design, but it's beautiful and sturdy. It comes on a lazy susan to rotate the toy for all-around play, but I'd have preferred to see it permanently fastened to it because it slides off and becomes unbalanced. I might have to use super glue for that as well!.
