I have no idea how the dolls were treated. They appear to be bare wood from the outside.
These nesting dolls are made in the Republic of Belarus, according to my simple research. It was once ruled by Russia, but it is now one of Europe's last bastions of authoritarian rule, if not the last. They are a little better off economically than Russia, and sales of these little nested dolls could be part of the reason for that. (I'm not sure about that.) ) The dolls are of excellent quality, and finding the tiniest one makes you smile; I purchased them for my daughter.
I haven't painted them yet, so I don't know. As far as I know about paints and wood, as long as you have a base layer, you should be fine.

I made the decision to make a change. I should have done this a long time ago, but it's only now that I'm getting around to it. To make my set, I used artist-grade colored pencils and Micron, and I really enjoyed working with this wood. Because the wood is so well prepared, both the pencils and the pen go on easily. I'm going to go out and get another set so I can make some more! br>br>Each piece of the Matryoshka is sanded to perfection, with no knots or obvious flaws. They've already been lightly marked with a small pencil line to indicate where the tops and bottoms should be aligned. They were bubble wrapped and packaged in a nice, sturdy box. I'm a colored pencil artist who's currently working on a set with wood that's nowhere near as good as this one, so I'm excited to use it. This is a product that I would strongly recommend!.
I bought two matryoshka nesting doll sets - a set like this and a set like this - Because I was concerned that one set would not arrive in time due to order times, I ordered both sets. br>br>The other set was $7 (which was $16 less than this one). The quality of this set, on the other hand, was far superior to that of the cheaper nesting dolls. This set was well-packaged and came with everything you need to get started. sanded. In the end, I went with the more expensive nesting doll set. br>br>Assuming that quality is important to you, I'd spend the extra money on this set. It would be a no-brainer if the manufacturer of these matryoshka nesting dolls reduced the price by a few dollars.
blanks that have been handcrafted The dolls are all sanded to a smooth finish and have the same general shape and feel. The fit and finish are excellent (pieces fit together, dolls nest properly, no missing chunks or cracks, wood doesn't feel too soft), and the dolls stand perfectly on their own, even the tiniest ones. Would buy again.
I purchased two sets, one for my niece and the other for my child. It is a huge hit with them! From the tiniest to the largest doll, the quality, precision, and attention to detail are exceptional. I'm speaking as someone who enjoys woodworking and has made a few things. br>br>As soon as it's available again, I'm getting another set for myself. These are great gifts for yourself or anyone who is interested in crafts or art. When my daughter is finished with hers, she plans to stuff them with gifts and give them to her friends. br>br>I'm afraid to say that, for various reasons, there are a lot of garbage products with high ratings on Amazon. I'm going to order another four! My grandson is fascinated by dinosaurs, so after a few lessons in drawing - We took our time painting each nesting doll blank after drawing a variety of dinosaurs on it. He did an excellent job for a child of his age. He was quite pleased with himself. Painting was a breeze thanks to the soft wood. We used water colors as well as markers. I purchased four more for my other grandsons as gifts. Christmas presents for my nephews My friend told me that she can't wait to give her artistic 12-year-old daughter. It's a good idea for a 12-year-old to try it out. In fact, I believe that people of all ages would enjoy these!.
The surface of the wood is smooth, making painting a breeze. The durability of these nesting dolls is superior to that of some of the more expensive models. I really like the fact that there are seven of them - It's better if there's a lot of it!.
All of the others, from various vendors, needed a lot of sanding before painting to smooth them out and make them easy to open and close the dolls. This set didn't require any sanding and was ready to paint right away. These are the ones I recommend.
What I like about this matryoshka is how smooth it feels when painted on, and how they include instructions on how to properly seal it when you put it back together, as well as how to keep it looking new. Which is understandable given that it is handmade and made of natural wood, as well as the fact that it is somewhat fragile, as are all nesting dolls. However, the package, the maker's information, the care instructions, and the smoothness of the design make it ideal for painting and well worth the money. This brand is far superior to any other naked nesting doll set I've seen.
