Set of 6 Traditional Semenov Matryoshka Wooden Russian Nesting Dolls 5.5 Inches

This set of nesting dolls is quite lovely. They did an excellent job, which is why I gave them two stars. The second doll, on the other hand, appears to have been closed with a shellacking. It's not possible to open it. My husband even made an attempt to pry them apart. It's not even close. I think it's absurd that the purpose of this toy is for it to be able to be opened (by a child), but it can't even be opened by an adult. I bought them despite seeing that in another review, and now I'm wishing I hadn't because they're not returnable. So now I'm stuck with a set of nesting dolls that only allows me to open the first one. This was a complete letdown. **Update: br>br> Amazon came through for me and made everything right, which I greatly appreciated. Amazon, I appreciate your help.

6 years of age). These are a huge hit with my 3-year-old daughter. When I was a kid, I used to play with similar dolls. It's a fantastic toy because of its simplicity! Excellent craftsmanship. The smallest one was initially difficult to open, but it now opens easily, and the colors are bright and cheerful. Dolls with sweet faces painted on them. This is my second order, and while we did lose a few pieces, it was well worth it because she adores them.

Within four months of purchase, two of these nesting dolls had cracked. They were only lightly used, only dismantled and reassembled, and not stepped on or tossed around. The linden wood is far too thin to withstand any pressure. Unless they'll just be used as a decorative item on a shelf, I'd go with something else.

This is an Easter present for my five-year-old granddaughter. She doesn't like candy, especially chocolate, which makes me wonder where I went wrong, so I try to think of something new to put in her basket. I was looking for a doll like this, and this was it. The dolls had saw dust in them, but I simply removed it with furniture polish and a dust cloth; the last two dolls were a little tight and difficult to open, but I lightly sanded them and they now open without difficulty. The colors are vibrant, and the faces of the children are adorable! Because the smallest doll is so small, I wouldn't give it to a child under the age of five or to someone who puts things in their mouth because it could be a choking hazard. The paint is smooth and glossy, and none of the dolls had chips or bubbles in the paint. I think I'll order another set for myself because I like them so much!.

They were purchased as a present for a student at the high school where I work. She was adopted and brought to the United States as an infant after being born in Russia. She's fascinated by things related to her culture, and when I told her about my (precious) nesting dolls, she said she'd never seen them before. I'm looking forward to giving these to her for Christmas next week. They're simply stunning. Only because they aren't painted with as much detail as mine did I give them four stars instead of five; if I didn't have the comparison, they would definitely be a five!.

When I was a kid, my family had a set of matryoshka dolls, and my 4-year-old recently discovered some at a friend's house. Before deciding on this doll set, I did a lot of research. Some of the sets were oddly shaped, had creepy faces, or lacked sufficient dolls. This set is exquisitely detailed, right down to the smallest doll. My daughter adores them, and they remind me a lot of the set we used to have when I was a kid.

I bought these nesting dolls because I've always liked them, and I was sad to have to put away a set of "nesting Santas" that I put on the windowsill every December after Christmas, so I figured now would be a good time to get a set of Russian ones. I'm not sure what the tradition is behind them (but I should be), but these dolls had the most beautiful faces of any doll in this price range. I'm starting a new project this year, so I arranged the dolls in order of size, hoping that as the project's momentum grows and the year progresses, they'll bring me good luck. Santa has had his time; now it's time for you to have yours. These little ladies now adorn the space above my kitchen sink, inspiring me to believe in the strength of women and the sweetness of spring. (I'm writing this from the top of a mountain that's buried under a foot of snow. ).

"The Littlest Matryoshka" is the name of the piece. It describes how Nikolai, a dollmaker from Russia, meticulously handcrafts each one with care and love. I knew I had to find a set to illustrate this sweet story after reading the charming story about a sister who goes missing and then is found. As a result, I placed an order for this package. Unfortunately, the first set had to be returned because the second sister had a hole in it. The seller, I must say, responded quickly by sending a second set. The second set, however, had a cracked doll, hair stuck in the varnish, and numerous bubbles in the finish, much to my dismay. But, once again, this seller was fantastic and promptly sent me a replacement set. Now I have a set that my grandchildren can hold and compare, allowing them to see the pride that goes into making Russian Nesting Dolls. I'd like to express my gratitude to the seller for working with me on this, and I'll definitely order from them again in the future because I know they'll deliver on their promises.
