There is a plastic covering on each wand.
To cut off the end of the wire, you might need to use a hacksaw. There is a good amount of glue on it My concern is that if I broke off the white end of the wand I would crack the black part of the wand. The idea is great!

The 13" length was fine, but the 3/4" width is way too big for my taste. They look cartoonish and cheesy rather than replicas of the real thing. This was only my fault since I did not read the product description closely enough to notice the large width, so I am not to blame. To provide a comparison, a picture of my son holding a magic wand that came with one of his kits next to one of these wands is attached.
As part of a goodie bag, I gave these wands away to children attending the magicians party I had for my five-year-old son. As well as individual magic tricks and some candy, this little party favor made a nice little present. It's nice to give the wands as little gifts since they are individually wrapped. The fact that they are so wide makes them look like toys, but they were perfect for a group of boys ages four and five. It is impossible for them to break, since they are so sturdy. My kids still use them when they do their magic tricks with the ones I had left over. The price was a very good deal, especially for it.
Even though they were oversized, I was surprised at how large they were. There's no need to worry about them breaking, which is great! These monsters are so dangerous that even the littlest children cannot harm them.
The only one I received was. Wands did not appear to be a dozen. The number of wands in my order is 2, so I only received two per pack I ordered. Both wands have a clip that comes off completely at one end. Initially, I thought maybe they were all inside, but nothing was inside either of the wands. This is very disappointing since they are for my party favors (.
As shown in the packaging and pictures, these wands have a classic black tip with white tips. A gray tip can be found on the actual product. A large wand like this is too big for children to use. Approximately the size of an adult.

I am the grandmother of 7 year old boys. My daughter decided to throw them a magic party. One of the people we hired to perform a magic show was a magician. It was a wonderful addition to their party that they had wands. Along with the magician, each kid was given his or her own wand in order to perform magic. It was not the strongest wand, but it was still strong enough to last the entire night. In addition to being used as swords, the boys also found they could make them into candles. I guess it makes sense.
