No, it's not the one I used to have when I was a kid, and I'm in my fifties. It's about the same size as an iPad and doesn't have the same stand-alone shape. It must be used on a flat surface.

It's nothing like the lite brite I recall. It's a little smaller and made of plastic. Because it is powered by batteries, it is less bright and does not have a flat-laying stand. Very dissatisfied.
This item is not cost-effective. It's a small, low-cost item. It's nothing like the old bulb style we remember from our childhood.
This item is extremely popular with my son. I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the poor build quality. The light is dim and uneven, and the case is made of fairly inexpensive plastic. On the other hand, it's a lot more adaptable than the old ones from way back when. You don't need to punch holes in your paper to move the pegs around; you can make your own designs. It's also a lot of fun to make large areas of color with the extra pack of pegs.
This was clearly not the fault of the seller, but rather the fault of the manufacturer, and it was not worth the money. The product is of poor quality; there is no way to keep the paper in place for the child, and the window screen is extremely small. They're not like the ones I remember from my childhood. They should not have attempted to improve the product because it is of poor quality.
This is a SMALL amount of information. To begin with, the item depicted in the photo is not the one we received. This is a SMALL amount of information. I was expecting a Lite Brite about the same size as the one I had as a kid, about 8 inches tall. 5 x 11. It's about half the size of the real thing, and it's more of a travel version. Certainly not worth the $40 price tag, and the product was not accurately advertised. What a waste of time.
For the day I saw her and her siblings playing with it, it was a huge hit. But I'm not sure how long it'll last. br>This item isn't the same as the old ones. Made for a very low price! It should have cost half as much as it does now. The two storage bins are attached to the unit on opposite sides. not in the best of circumstances It is difficult to open and close the bins themselves. The bin lid isn't going to last long!.
I couldn't wait for Christmas and had it early because it was a wonderful Christmas present and a blast from the past. She's seven years old and absolutely adores it. Great product that is far superior to the older units I used as a child.
In comparison to the original, this is a far inferior product.
- There's no way to keep the templates in place. I was the one who inquired. Instead of using a plastic holder that fits over the top, they now recommend using extra pegs or tapebr>- It shuts down every 10 minutes, so you have to keep turning it back on. br>- The stand does not stay open, causing it to topple overbr>- br>br>Light leaks through the sides of the thin plasticbr>br>None of these issues existed with the original and would have been simple to fix. It's such a pity.
