Neither Pluto nor the Moon are included
This is a much bigger box than a shoe box when all put together. Likewise, my daughter took hers to school, and we put it in a medium-sized moving box so that we could transport it.
The sun does appear in this list. The total number of pieces is around 31. A piece of each planet is attached to a hanger and then to a crossbar in which they can be hung. This is a really good book and I bought it for my five and seven year olds.
I did not include Pluto in my list. It may be helpful to know this

Set is very fun to assemble, it is simple to assemble, and it is very good for kids to play with. Luckily, her nine-year-old sister liked doing it too) We found these suggestions helpful *Provided by 1. Put your planets together and hang them first, then paint (so they won't look like two halves). painted ours inside the shower so that they were easy to clean and we enjoyed painting them while they rotated. ** 2. You will need to paint the hanging rack to match the ceiling color prior to assembly. There is nothing wrong with the model except for the rack, which stands out because it is blue- We would have had it white from the start if only they had made it that way. 3.
Glow in the dark paint should be applied using thick, even strokes directly from the tube. The glow paint that is applied with a brush will light up very faintly until it is completely covered.
Delivery time was long and not impressive. It takes a lot of time to assemble the machine. I got this for my 5 year old who loves crafts and the solar system, and it did not impress him at all. There is no balance to be found no matter how you try to get the weight of the planets to be uniform. **I would not recommend this product nor would I gift it to a friend.
Paint takes forever to dry and has a strong smell with an off-size planet. The paint takes forever to dry and is bad quality. It was necessary to use a hot glue gun to attach the string and the hanging piece to the sun. As a result, planets were falling off constantly. There's no better solution than a hot glue gun. If you want it to be easier on yourself, I recommend buying a different kind of model. It is, to say the least, an unimpressive end product.
My kids are 6 years old, so I bought this as a gift for them. The painter and I painted it and partially assembled it during a couple of afternoons, then I strung it This is a project that the kids cannot do alone, but it could be done with the help of an adult I think it is simple enough for adults, as long as the adult is not picky about the end product. Overall, it is relatively simple and the instructions are adequate. The pros are There is enough paint on the walls. Despite our best efforts, there were some colors that ran out There is no guarantee that a color will appear on every planet. -Join the planets easily by snapping them together. It might be necessary to pull them apart again. When I showed the kids how to line up the pieces correctly (so the two halves of the hole for each hangar piece match up), they were able to paint and snap the pieces together easily. It is not immediately clear when you first see it, but there are many fishing lines available for hanging. While assembly is not complicated, there are enough challenges for a child of greater age to enjoy it. The planets I used are so close in size that it's difficult to tell them apart when stringing them on the support pieces, so I had to sketch it all out on the table prior to stringing them on. The unpainted planets were made out of a dark blue plastic which was surprising to me Although most paint colors covered it fine, it required more than they would otherwise have, and getting a light color meant priming it with white.
* Barely enough glow paint, and it doesn't glow very brightly after it dries. During a bright light period, it dims significantly when you turn on the light, and then turn off the light when the room is The problem is that a mobile will not have a bright light under it since it's a mobile. One planet above it makes the planets look like they are glowing, so it enhances the overall effect. If you aren't tall enough, you won't be able to see it. I had another minor issue when it came to assembly instructions the center of each hangar where the planets are to be placed is only listed My house does not have any rulers with metric measurements, so I needed to use a calculator to convert from metric As a result, I'm not deducting any stars, since I prefer the US to be metric anyway, and I have no good excuse not to use the dual-conversion method We have a ruler for measuring the system in our You should be forewarned, however. The set was nicely done, and I.
I found this project to be very fun to do with my almost five-year-old. His favorite thing to do was to mix the colors and paint them. He was very happy and excited to be able to hang them in the end. As far as the glow in the dark effect is concerned, we have yet to see it.
As a result of the fish line not staying in knots, the planets untied. It took me a while to finish hanging the planets with thread. I don't think it actually glowed in the dark like it The call was hung up after I did that, but it wouldn't be recommended.
In light of my baby's interest in space right now, I thought this would be an entertaining project to do with him. I found it confusing and took me a long time to assemble, and once painted it was tricky to attach the strings to hang them, and to correctly position them so that they were evenly The first night it shone, our son was thrilled to see it glowing after it was hung. Once my husband and I got the lights on it, we let it charge for several hours. As soon as we turned off the lights, we prepared to see what it would look like in the dark and were disappointed to find that it had a very faint glow While it looks great during the daytime, it lacks wow factor when the sun goes down.
As a general rule, you should not take art classes unless you are a professional artist Our painting and equipment are of a variety of types As pictured in the example, this will not pan out the way it is intended. In addition to the paints, the planets come in either blue halves or gold halves so that you can make them When you buy a model airplane, etc, you need to paint it and work hard to make it look the way it does in the pictures. Although it is possible, it's not a certainty. A solar system that looks like the one on the box cannot be made. We also found that the glow paints had dried out and were no longer usable. It didn't work for me, so I threw it away.
