Buying it for my two is the best decision I've ever made. This is a gift for my little nephew who is 1 year old, and a gift to my 5-year old niece. In the end, it all depends on the child's Those are my two. My nephew, who is 12 years old, also enjoys playing with his, but can't open all the doors. My 5 year old can open all of them with a little effort. However, I think this is a great find and one they are sure to grow into

It has been 18 months since my son was born. It was a gift I got him when he was 14 months It was the perfect toy for his age and I'm sure he will continue playing with it for at least another In the beginning, he loved opening and closing the easy locks. As he learned to open more, he now likes to show me where the animals are hiding and we are trying to learn numbers by pointing to them. In contrast to any other toy, he'll take a few days/weeks off from it before he is able to get back into it Therefore, when it comes to skill development, it would be appropriate for children ages 1 to 3.
A single board is all it takes.

His determination led him to figure out what he needed to do. Our son is 18 months old and we bought this for him. Keeping my son entertained is essentially the only way to keep him happy. He spends quite a bit of time locking, unlocking, opening, and closing the doors. All of them were fairly easy to unlock for him, but he isn't that keen on blocking There is a design on the outside of the box built out of wood, but it is printed on paper and then glued to seem to be of a high quality, and they seem to last for quite a while. Due to the paper coming off of the wood in some places and being ripped in one corner, I am deducting two stars from the rating and giving it an "It's okay" rating. My item arrived sealed in cellophane, which did not show any signs of damage, so I assume this was a quality control issue on the part of The paper peeling off doesn't bother my toddler since it is only cosmetic at this point, but if you are buying it as a gift, I suggest taking this into consideration as a few others have also noted the same issue.
My stepmother absolutely loves it. We absolutely love this product! They still love to play with it at the age of 7 and 9, even though they're As well as the older nephews, our younger nephews love to come visit. Hand-eye coordination and fine-motor skills are enhanced when playing this game. During my last visit to a resident at work, I placed yet another order. My job involves working in a nursing home with some patients who suffer from The man in question worked in construction all his life and enjoys learning how things work, tearing them apart, and evaluating the mechanics of things. The disease has advanced, and he is not as capable of doing things as he once was, but that doesn't stop him from taking apart everything he can reach! While this board is made for children, I brought it over to him and explained that this was one of his favorite toys as well. It interested him because he is a big kid at heart. The latches intrigued him so much that he began working with them on his own away from any instruction. It is often in his room when he is looking for something to do with his hands, so we keep the board in there. In fact, we found it to be a very effective intervention for this gentleman and we will order it again should any of our other residents become interested.
The toy is amazing! I love it! Although it says it's for kids 3 and up, I decided to get it for my 12 month old instead of taking the time and money to make a busy board that he might not enjoy. In addition, there are no small parts that could fall off or cause a child to swallow them. It is very well-made with very strong latches. So far, my son has figured out how to open and close all the latches with the exception of the blue house (lock #2). I believe that is mainly due to the lock itself being stiff and difficult to turn on our board it should loosen up more with use. It seems like I'm becoming quite partial to the Melissa and Doug This toy from Doug brand is the best I've ever owned. All toys I've bought from this company have been exceptional and this one is no different.
Because I know the toys of this brand will always be made from safe materials and that there will be no crazy stuff like lead paint, I can always feel safe buying them. Playing with children's toys needs to be made safe from toxic materials. Adding a little extra money is worth it to ensure our children are not handled by toxic materials. If I can have fewer toys made from safe materials, I will choose that over many toys made from potentially The more you have, the more you do. Despite its low price, this product is of the same quality as all others I have bought from Melissa and Doug. I am really impressed by the quality of this busy board. Since my youngest is less than 18 months old, she is interested, but does not have the intellectual ability to open/close mechanisms on the busy board. When she actually enjoys playing with these latches and locks on this particular toy, it will probably be within the next six months. In the meantime, she just likes keeping an eye on me as I demonstrate how to open the doors on the toy, and then she mimics me by trying Right now, the toy only keeps her occupied for a couple of.
It's great to have a puzzle like this! There are a lot of puzzles my kid doesn't really like It takes him no time to grow tired of them. Nevertheless, I knew he would enjoy this puzzle because he loves opening and closing doors, and trying to figure out how things work. It's one of his favorite toys even after we've had it for a few months. He knows how to open every lock by now, but it's still one of his favorites. Whether he is in his high chair or in his learning tower, he asks for it. As much as opening the locks, he enjoys closing them as well, and as a result we're now teaching colors and animal noises to each other. His favorite part of this toy is that it is so sturdy, so I know it will provide years of enjoyment for him and his younger siblings for many years to come.
I bought it when my daughter was That was her favorite part of the movie. I am pretty sure she's about 16 months now since she's really getting into the act. All of her doors and windows are locked and unlocked by herself. My daughter is hyperactive, so this toy keeps her busy for 30 minutes or more every single time. It may be dangerous for a child under 2 years old to leave it unattended since it has a few sharp latches that could snag their fingers.
Opening and closing the doors is one of my son's favorite things to do. Though the quality of the video isn't as good as it could have been. toddler of 3 years old trying to develop his fine motor skills, it is just too difficult. Doors can be difficult to open / close if the locks are misplaced or you need a lot of strength to open/close them.
As soon as she saw it, her attention was captivated, and she took the time to Furthermore, she is able to recognize the animals contained behind the doors, as she knows what she is looking at and makes the correct noise when she sees them. It's heavy for her to pick up, so I would advise being careful if they picked it up. I know it will hurt her foot pretty badly if she drops it. She tries to carry it, and she can, but she drops it, so I know it will hurt. The price seemed steep at first, but after seeing how much she liked it, I found it to be well worth it.
