Questions & Answers
We bought the set from Hape on Amazon, but the balls are smaller than the ones that came with the Roller Derby (unless you have the pound toy, in which case they are the same size). They work in roller derby occasionally, but not always.
Switzerland, in all of its forms, I believe.
The balls aren't as big as they used to be. This was a big hit with my 18-month-old granddaughter. She was ecstatic, and she continues to enjoy it. It does have a tendency to tip from time to time, but that is a result of another cause and effect skill.
The balls have a diameter of approximately 1.5 inches. This toy is fantastic. It is a big hit with my granddaughter. She doesn't toss the balls around, but she is a girl after all. To ring the bell at the bottom, you must use the harder ball.

This item will be returned, not because I didn't want it, but because it frustrates both my 16-year-old daughter and me. and me. (1) The included balls do not always make it all the way through and become stuck on the ledges adjacent to each hole. (2) The supposed-to-be-compatible Hape replacement balls aren't. I previously owned a musical pound bench, so I purchased extra balls to use as replacements, but they continue to get stuck in various places. Then he tries to force them through, which causes it to topple. (3) Due to the interchangeability of the roller derby balls, they are not suitable for use on the musical bench. That's difficult to explain to a one-year-old. br>It's cute, well-made, and could be entertaining, but it's a pain to have to buy separate pieces for toys made by the same company. Do a better job, Hope! [Photos to illustrate the issues! Three balls are stuck before the first hole in the roller derby photo, and the solid color spare/replacement balls are also stuck along the way. Because the solid colored balls are smaller than the roller derby pattern balls in the bench photo, they do not fit through. ]br>We like this company a lot, but the price was too high for us.
We had to hold it up for him at first because he kept pushing the whole thing over when he tried to put a ball in, but he's getting the hang of it now.
This toy turned out to be a wonderful find! There are so many things a baby can do to have fun and learn! br>br>The ball enters at the top, rolls down a blue ramp to a blue hole, passes through to a green ramp with a green hole, rolls down a red ramp to a red hole, hits a (quiet) bell, and exits on a storage ramp. br>br>My baby spends a lot of time trying to fit the ball into various colored holes. If the ramp is going downhill, it enters and continues its journey. If the ramp is ascending, it will return to him. br>br>He is also pleased by the small bell. My 10-month-old baby can play with this toy on his own. The balls are large enough to avoid being a choking hazard, and the entire thing has soft edges, so if a baby pulls up and falls on it, there will be no major issues. When my baby tries to stand on it, it occasionally tips over, but not completely. br>br>I believe the age range for this toy should be increased to 9m-. Despite the fact that I have 3. It's been used by a 5-year-old as well.
It's simple to use! My 2-year-old grandson enjoys rolling objects down sloped surfaces, so this was the perfect gift for him. You know what I'm talking about: cars, balls, and so on. He hasn't tried it yet, but I have, and it's a lot of fun! This is a toy that will never let you down. The ball will roll down, ring the bell, and reach the bottom of the ramp regardless of which hole the child places it in. It's self-correcting, so even if the ball is pushed into the wrong side, it will pop out and roll all the way down. The structure is sturdy, and the balls are precisely weighted to complete the task.
This Hape Roller Derby is a sturdy, brightly colored toy that I bought for my 20-month-old daughter. grandson who is over the age of ten This toy appealed to me because of its solid wooden construction and long lifespan. Even on thick carpeting, it worked exactly as it should. The balls rolled down the rails, popping from one side to the other through the designated holes and landing on the bell at the bottom, which rang out nicely. My Grandson, on the other hand, was more interested in throwing the brightly colored solid wooden balls around the house than putting them through the maze, which could be dangerous to anyone or anything in the line of fire, so we're keeping the Roller Derby boxed for now until he's a little older.
This was given to a 9-month-old baby who had an older brother who liked it as well. The baby stood there watching as her brother pity the balls and drop them in various locations. She needed to do it hand over hand at first, but she soon realized that the balls would fall into the holes and she would have to drop them. She was giddy with anticipation as she watched them crash to the ground and ring the bell. The ringing of the bell wasn't too deafening. This gift is still being enjoyed by the family, and I'm sure it will be put to good use.
Good job on the design! It was a huge hit with my toddler. Not so much in terms of quality. The front bar came off, and we glued it back on, but it doesn't feel the same. When you drop the ball and it slides down that bar, it's no longer as smooth as it used to be, and the ball stops on the bar rather than going down to the hole. Just when I thought that was the only issue, the back bar became unsmooth as well (it didn't come off the wood), but it still won't keep the ball moving forward. It comes to a complete stop. Playing with this toy becomes less enjoyable as a result of this.
For my two-year-old daughter, I was looking for a ball/car cascade toy. I decided to take a chance on this one because it was in the middle of the price range. I adore Hape Toys and have never been disappointed by them, and this roller maze continues to live up to the high standards I expect from them; it's a good size, not too big or too small. The balls are ideal for children under the age of two, but older children will enjoy them as well due to the ball's unique back and forth motion as it rolls down. My daughter has a habit of carrying it around with her (thanks to the handle) and it won't work on some surfaces, so I have to remind her to put it on the floor or a table. Her favorite part was the bell at the bottom, which she loves because it rings when the ball reaches it. My only real gripe is the narrowness of the base. I wish it had been a little wider so she wouldn't knock it over, but it's good for her to learn that she can't be too rough with the toy; however, an 18-month-old might become frustrated. Overall, this is a fantastic purchase.
