Alzheimer's disease has been a part of Mother's life for 15 years. The star has been flashing every day since I got it for her (although upside down) a month ago and she plays tunes with it and enjoys it most of the day. It is best to get started sooner rather It lasted 5 weeks without being turned off with the original batteries. As stated in the user manual, the batteries are located near the upper part of the spine. I think I just heard "Uhhhh" Nevertheless, the enclosure is situated at the top of the spline.

It's surprising that there are no more volume concerns. The only thing I didn't like about this toy was I am blown away by the size and the volume of this! It is WAY too loud at the lowest setting for someone who is legally deaf in one ear. It's probably 90% of all toys out there. Although I wish I could say that one toy is unique. An infant 6 to 9 months old cannot hold the toy or move around on a lap because it is too big. The book I have is about two to three inches shorter and has fewer illustrations than the one I have at home The book is very tall for her and she gets overwhelmed by the sounds as well as her height. It upsets her after a few minutes and she kicks it away. She even covers it with blankets to muffle the noise and goes back to her more quiet reading. You'll be able to let your child be the center of attention with this loud, flashy toy. Please consider this. It might help to take a couple of Ibuprofen before you release this beast.
In a nutshell, Purchasing this was a terrible decision. As soon as the door was opened, the speaker began to blow. A new one was not available, so I tried returning the old one or exchanging it. There is a return window outside of which I am not allowed to return. It was a gift for my daughter, and I did not open it until I gave it to her. I had no idea it was poorly made, and therefore 1 star was given. This should receive no stars, but we can't do that, so it is given 1.

The book is beloved by my daughter, who is 1 years old. For a child, it is very difficult to stay focused. This is the first thing my daughter crawls to when I set her on the floor in her play area. Her favorite type of music is jazz. A song makes her bounce up and down every time it plays. With this book (and for the mommy and daddy too), she will be occupied for a few minutes. The plastic on this book is of excellent quality. My daughter likes to pick up things and drop them right away, so I was afraid it would not last long. A hardwood floor has been installed in our home. However, so far everything seems to be going well. The book has already been dropped a couple of times and you would never know it was there. This is a book that I would recommend to any parent with children.
The book is heavy and my daughter has dropped it on herself several times, and it hurts her when the book is dropped. In the pages she gets her little finger stuck in between, but because the pages are so heavy, she's trapped and screams and cries until someone frees it. Moreover the book's batteries are still working (I checked them with a tester) although the book is not working properly. There are a few seconds of sound that repeat over and over again in a very monotonous rhythm. If you don't turn it off, you'll never be able to stop it. My return period is out by a couple of weeks so I cannot return it for malfunctioning. This toy could be better because if it were made better it would be a truly wonderful gift. The fact that it hurts her doesn't stop her from playing with it. Her favorite part of the game is the moving pages and the lights. As a result, I am now the bad guy and I will make the thing disappear so she does not deal with it.
