I wish they had clarified that you couldn't just pick up the book and leave. You must first download it to your computer; this isn't a big deal; it took me less than 20 minutes and I had a couple of books to finish. I used to have one of these as a kid, and it was extremely useful and encouraged me to enjoy reading, so I bought one for a 3-year-old in the hopes of achieving the same results. So far, it's been a big hit. She uses it on a daily basis, reading and playing quietly while learning about shapes, colors, and other concepts. I'm glad I was able to obtain it. Just keep in mind that you should purchase the entire system rather than the book alone.

The books aren't held in place by the Leapfrog hard shell, and the pen isn't always working. Do you believe your young child will inform you of this? No, but if they start talking long enough, they'll mention how frustrated they are with the pen's inconsistent reading. You then make contact with the firm. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do because it's almost certainly too late. Despite the fact that there was something wrong and I had notified them via email that it wasn't working properly a while ago, I had no idea it wasn't working! And that without the Leapfrog connected reader, my children would simply dismiss it and move on to reading it on his own. So dissatisfied, and the worst thing a single parent or any parent with limited time to actually be with their children instead of troubleshooting and downloading books that don't work could possibly buy.

The books that came with the system were far superior to the ones that came with it. She is putting her letters, numbers, and trading skills to the test. The games are entertaining and interactive, and they provide some assistance if she gets the answer wrong the first time around. This is something we use a lot when I need her to do some independent play while I'm doing housework. We're very happy with it and will buy the next level when we're ready.

This is fantastic for advanced study! My granddaughter loved it when I gave it to her for Christmas. It aids her in being ready for the start of school! It was only a few moments of her day. This is fantastic for kids of all ages! Learning will be enjoyable for them.

I bought these to go with a leapfrog starter, but the leapfrog starter is ineffective and frustrates my daughter. Purchase no products from Leapfrog. They are poorly constructed. The stylus pen does not work, the program is buggy, and there is no customer service or place to go if something goes wrong.

I'm interested in anything that makes learning fun. What I like about it is how simple it is for kids to use and how many options they have. Furthermore, because more books are available for purchase, it is a long-lasting and popular toy, one in which boredom can be alleviated by picking up a new book.

It is not intended to be used unsupervised by children! Because it requires a 6 inch long cord to connect to a computer, it cannot be left with a young child. The article makes no mention of any of this. This is critical information that will influence your purchasing decision.

This was something I was really looking forward to getting for my four-year-old, who will be starting kindergarten this year. However, I am extremely disappointed. I had no idea that this book required the use of a computer. My son hasn't been able to use this because I don't have access to the internet or a functioning computer. I'm extremely dissatisfied, and the money was wasted.
