When my son was four years old, I bought him this game system. He hadn't started school yet, but he was preparing for it. It was a hit with him, and I enjoyed it too. I enjoyed watching him pick up new skills and respond to questions that he already knew the answers to. He had the Leapster Explorer and Leapster 2 long before the Nintendo DS and Wii were released. We got him as many games as we could, including Tangled, because he wanted them all. He played it and learned from it, just as he had from the other games. We also discovered that the store Five and Below sells a lot of Leapster Explorer games for $5 instead of the usual $20. Store. But, especially for a 7-year-old girl, I strongly suggest this game. I hope this has been of assistance.
Any game that works with the Leappad2 (such as Tangled) should work with the Ultra, according to the Leapfrog website.
I believe it will, but I would first go to the LeapFrog website and read the fine print. For your information, I discovered that Amazon has the best prices, but LeapFrog has better product information.
Yes, this also applies to the Ultra. Any game that runs on a LeapPad will run on the ULTRA as well.

I bought my daughters LeapPads for Christmas and pre-ordered two games for them to play right away. (In addition, we visit My Little Ponies Math, Jake and the Neverland Pirates Math, and Minnie's Bowtique. ) This is by far my favorite, as it offers a wide range of activities, all of which I believe are beneficial to learning. My girls (3 and 4) have mastered upper and lower case letters and have progressed to letter sounds and word sounding out, so this was a great addition. I was concerned that the suggested age range would be too difficult for my four-year-old, but it was just right, and my three-year-old enjoys it as well, with some adult assistance.
This is one of my daughter's favorite games. I appreciate how educational all of the games are; she doesn't even realize she's learning while playing. She only knows that it contains her favorite characters and that she is having a good time. I like that she's learned a lot from this game, including spelling, and that it's simple enough that I don't have to help her with the majority of it.
This is the first game I purchased for my daughter's leappad, and it is by far the best. All of the other games I've purchased since this one have disappointed me (I guess my expectations were too high because this product is so good). br>Because my daughter is an early reader, I wanted a game where I could control the vocabulary level. By connecting the leappad to a computer, I was able to select words to enter into it, and there are a large number of options. I wish every other leappad game was as well-made as this one.
My 5-year-old daughter got to use her Leap Pad while we were on the road. She spent the entire time playing this game and is completely enthralled by it. Some of the skills she practices with it have greatly aided her reading, and she is extremely engaged. She may resist workbooks or sitting down to practice reading skills, but she will play this game for hours without realizing she is practicing those same skills!.
My adult daughter, who suffered a brain injury, received a Leap Pad as a gift. She had a lot of fun with the Pad. Then all we had to do was figure out how to make learning enjoyable. This is a fantastic way to learn, in my opinion. She initially required assistance with using, but she is now capable of doing so on her own. The reading aids are fantastic.
For Christmas, I'm too old. We bought it as her only gift, and she hasn't asked for anything else since (at least a week after Christmas). She enjoys the activities on the Leapster whenever she can get her hands on it. This can be used for a variety of activities, including: To move on, she needs to fix misspelled words, have the Rapunzel story read to her, and so on. She hasn't expressed an interest in trading for a turn with her younger sister's Madagascar game yet. This is something she really enjoys.
My daughter enjoys learning while having a good time.
With the help of this game, my daughter has gradually begun to sound out her words. She doesn't use it as frequently as she does some of her other tools because she gets frustrated. However, she returns to it later and attempts it again. This is a fantastic learning tool for reinforcing letter sonds.
