If you actually perform back blows, the Red Cross warns that you risk injuring your spinal cord.
Note: Install an 8 cork to make it more interesting; the obstructions that come with it are very easy to get out of, but the cord makes it more difficult.
I adore the concept of this product, but the fact that the clasps on the sides are constantly falling off irritates both my trainees and me (instructor). Because the clasps fall off, very few students have both sides of their jackets that can clip.
Although this product does not accurately simulate the strength required to perform the Heimlich maneuver, it does an excellent job of teaching proper technique and instilling confidence in students during class. I'll be purchasing more of these trainers in the future for my classes.
It's helpful to be able to show students how things get stuck in the first place. It comes with three packs of "chokers," which are similar to miniature nerf guns, and the students are enthralled by them.
This is without a doubt the best training device on the market, as well as one of the most durable. For more than 30 years, I've been a Red Cross instructor, and it's the best.
They can actually practice assisting someone who is choking. I ordered it on a Sunday night and received it the following Friday, all the way from Finland! Thank you!.
Excellent item.
This is a great activity to include in my CPR classes.
