Binoculars are listed on the box as being for ages 3+, but they are really good and focus well. I'm loving it since I have a 6 year old who I should warn you that it's a pretty cheapy set, and if I'd known ahead of time, I would have pieced it together.
Unfortunately, I do not know what rpm means. Foam is used to make the blade.

I used the hand crank flashlight a lot for 2 months before it broke. After a 4th look, the binoculars broke. I found it to be fun but did not last. It was smelling like gasoline and oil when it was brand It's disappointing that I now have to spend money on a new pair of binoculars and a kids flashlight since my kids want to use.
For the price, I bought this for my niece for Christmas (6 years old), and what's in the kit is pretty good quality, considering it's I love the binoculars, I admire the compass, and it is such a nice scope It even has a small compass on the whistle for the sake of quality. The only problem I have today is that the flashlight has stopped working after about a month and a half. I used to be able to charge it when it arrived, but now it won't hold a charge no matter how much I crank it. Despite the issues, it is still a decent package. My niece had it out the other day and told me she was pretending to camp with it. This was my goal in getting it for her to inspire her to explore more outside and get outside more, so it appears to have succeeded!.
Last night, I bought my sons two of these for Christmas (2018), but they already had them. One of the main reasons I chose the explorer kit over others is the cute little tin box. Despite that, within 30 minutes, one of the fans stopped working (tried new batteries and those didn't work either), the rim of one set of binoculars broke off, and the switch that turns one of the flashlights on and off broke The $50 is a waste of money. Since I bought the shoes in October, I had no time to return them.
This is the favorite game of the 5 year old! Rather than going with all toys with a nature theme, we chose to make his gift all nature themed. The kids in my family and I opened gifts today, and my son loved it. He loves to use wind-up whistle/compass tool (which makes a good pitch, and he doesn't find it obnoxious like other whistles), and he also loves to use magnifying glass and flashlight. It has been a really wonderful experience exploring our garden today with this little kit, and I am so grateful for it! As a result of posting a review, you will also be entered to win a terrarium, something I am certain my son would also enjoy. Upon receiving the shipments, the Company sent us an email to make sure everything had Recommend it without a doubt! I appreciate the time and effort you put into this kit. -(Went great with the pop up bug book and - A crinkleroot animal habitat book we got for him as well!.
It is a favorite of our 5-year-old! The imagination is so stimulated by this book. In the future, I look forward to a truly spectacular display I highly recommend it!.
Carrying his little suitcase around and exploring nature was one of his favorite things about He was able to become a Junior Ranger with help from this kit. My favorite part was the fact that there are no batteries required on the flashlight! As a result, I did not have to always make sure that it was turned off, and I did not need to pack extra batteries.
The binoculars that we have are very good, so he always wants to use them. That's not good! We are looking forward to giving it to him when he visits next week so that he may keep it at our house.
