This is something I bought for our granddaughter to help her with potty training and getting into bed. First and foremost. When people talk about "quality wood," they're referring to plywood. I suppose I shouldn't expect solid wood at this price point, so I'll take it. There were some flaws in the product that we received. One of the side boards had some wood glue on it, as if they were attempting to repair a split in the wood. Since the stool is completely screwed together, there's no need for glue. Another wood piece had a split on the edge, but I was able to hide the damage on the unseen/unused side. I'm thinking the edges will start to split/chip after a few uses, especially if the child climbs on the stool wearing shoes. I'm a little concerned about her climbing on it barefoot, but I'll keep an eye on it. There were no non-food items in the stool we received. As stated, non-slip mats. After putting it together, I placed it on the bathroom's tile floor. The swivel swayed on the stool. The best part? The instruction manual states in red that there is a 3-year warranty and that "you can always contact us and have friendly customer service" if "you have any questions. I expected better quality, but it's easy to buff out the splinters caused by some chips. It was simple to put together. In a review, Amazon asked if it was suitable for potty training. I haven't tried, and I'm not going to try! Because wood is porous, it absorbs moisture. There is no finish on the wood, so it will absorb urine. It's a nice stool, and my toddler loves it. If you're looking for something to help with potty training, a seat step combo is a good option. We have one, and it's fantastic. Overall, I like this stool; my only criticism is that it has a few small chips in it.

The unit is simple to put together. After returning a previous product that did not meet my expectations, I decided to order this one. This step stool is absolutely adorable! For our 3-year-old great granddaughter, we had purchased a different stool from another seller. It looked cute, but it was a pain to put together and was made of cheap pressboard, and she is a very destructive child, so it didn't take long for her to break it. As a result, we bought it. It's very durable, and it's also very simple to put together. During assembly, I went the extra mile and used Elmer's wood glue to glue all of the joints together. This is crafted from high-quality wood. She hasn't been able to break it yet, and I am confident that she will keep it for a long time. Sidenote: Great-grandpa may or may not have permanently stepped on the old one. This one is made to hold 250 pounds, which is a lot more than great grandpa weighs.

This is the fourth step stool we've bought for our toddlers' bathroom needs (potty training, reaching the sink to wash their hands). We tried a folding step stool, but it took up too much space and we adults kept tripping over it. We also tried lightweight plastic step stools that were advertised as being easy for kids to move around, but they would slide and scoot when our child tried to step up on them. This is a small device, but it is extremely durable and effective. The only drawback I can think of is that without handrails, we've had a few minor mishaps, mostly stumbles, but no serious injuries. We don't have room in our small bathroom for a model with handrails, so we're fine with it; however, if your child is particularly prone to accidents, you might want to consider another option.

That one was a breeze to put together. There were no flaws at all. This stool has a lot of appeal for us. There are obvious quality inconsistencies, so I'm only giving it three stars. I'd like to warn other buyers to be cautious! br>br>I must have received a defective product because the stool I received could not be put together because none of the holes lined up, the wood had chips, and the directions and pieces did not match. I'll be contacting the seller for a replacement stool, and hopefully I'll be able to update with a more positive review, as I was very excited for this stool, which has turned out to be a huge disappointment and a waste of my time and money.
