Getting the width from the top of the lid to the side of it, we get 1 foot 9 inches (so overall we get 21 inches). The height in a photo goes up and down. Look at the photo where the cut-out and the type leg measure and measure from there up. The item is nice but will require two people to put it together as the hinges on the lids are a bit complex and our holes were drilled slightly off centered. Purchasing this item is another purchase where I wonder what the other reviewers thought. It seems like this box is too small according to what I have read. It's just not making any sense to me. Yes, it's suitable for children. This is not a dresser or trunk that's big enough for an adult. The toy box belongs to a child. My son's toys can be stored comfortably in this toy room. As it fills up, you probably want to pair up toys or do a rotation because this box lets you fit a LOT of things in it. In the case that you need more space for your child in any given room, I think you should rethink whether or not the box is the cause. In the case of children who have a lot of toys or even "too many," this box may not be right for them. A storage unit that can accommodate adults could be a good choice. Although this box provides ample space for children with a normal amount of toys, it is not large. There are no gaps so fingers cannot get pinched when using the lid, and it can also be used as a cute bench because of its design. We already had Delta furniture in the nursery so this one matches. I highly recommend this purchase.
I got a size that was exactly what I expected. The space I have available to store extra blankets is very limited, which is why I needed something very small. I really loved how easy it was to assemble! One thing I am concerned about and why I did not rate it a five-star rating is that once it was assembled and placed in the room, I noticed it had an awful smell. Does that sound toxic to you? It may be the chest, but I swept it with Clorox a few times and let it fully air out for more than a week to find out what's causing the bad smell. When I brought it in a few days ago, the smell had already lessened, but it lingered for a while. The cause of that is unknown to me. As well as that, it was perfect in terms of assembly and size.
My daughter is 3 years old, and I have no concerns that she will damage it anytime soon since it is not hardwood. In order to install the bracket, you need to compress the spring and screw it in at the same time. The assembly is much faster and easier when you use an impact driver. By doing this, the lid will not loudly slam shut and the paint will not be damaged. I would recommend this product to anyone. Be sure to carefully read the dimensions to make sure this is the right size for you.
We originally wanted to give this product four stars, however, we downgraded it. This is an easy project to assemble. For added strength, I added glue to the joints since the material is particle board. If it breaks it's not a big deal because it's for the kids and the price was not that bad. As I was putting it together yesterday and today, the inside hinge assembly came apart and a large chunk was removed from the interior. I tried to contact the company but no one answered. It was enough for me to glue it back on and use longer screws so that it did at least work. The ) unhappy.
There is an awful smell emanating from this. I had a house that smelled like a DuPont research laboratory. The smell was reduced by washing the whole thing twice with lysol and rinsing twice with it. I can still faintly smell it a few weeks later. If it was still on, I would have returned it, but who has time? Also, the screws holding the soft-close lid have become loose. It had too small a spring near the lid. Although its a quick fix to use my own bigger screws, I think you should be aware of As a study toy box, however, it looks absolutely fantastic and is of great use. As such, I give it two stars due mainly to the horrible smell and the fact that it does not come.
There is a strong chemical smell, just as I have noticed in other reviews. don't know if the wood is coming from (? The paint) or the paper. Even when I got together in the living room, I felt my eyes burning. It smelled in my son's room so I did not want to keep it. As a result, I have wiped it with Clorox wipes several times, I am using a fan to blast away that weird chemical smell, but I am not sure I will completely remove it.
I bought it because I was going to put some big, hard toys in it such as big wooden puzzles and big cars but that wasn't the case. The other soft cloth/panel that I already have is (? (around twenty dollars) the shape isn't plasticky and it doesn't smell. The material is not as durable however as this one. As a result of the smell, I still prefer the one from Target. My son's room will be near the chemical smell, so I am concerned about it when I buy it for inside use. There is a possibility that it will disappear soon, but other reviews indicate that it may take a few weeks. This is not a very high expectation for me. Additionally, it had a small bit of wear on the edges. This could have been a great treat if it hadn't smelled.
