Questions & Answers
Rather than relying on descriptions, look for the square with the black and dark brown switches. The color will be determined by this. Regardless of whether you choose a black or dark brown chair, the description contains dark brown.
No, it rocks in the non-reclining position, and there is no way to stop it. In reclining positions, the chair does not rock, but the leg rest is fully open and can be adjusted in two positions.
The frame is made of metal and wood.
I haven't seen the leather recliner at Costco, but I can tell you that this one is tough (it survived a week in a box in a snowstorm)! It is also extremely relaxing - I fall asleep a lot in it because it's so comfortable! Furthermore, it is a stunning piece of furniture.

It's incredibly relaxing! It's easy to fall asleep in when fully reclined, and there's plenty of room to toss and turn all night. The fact that it has worn so badly is my issue with it. I've attached some photos of the 'leather,' which is severely cracked; I've had the chair for just over two years. The chair has a right-hand slant as well. Something has shifted beneath it, causing it to be a little lopsided. The back does not snap into place on both sides, as has been mentioned by others. There is a lot of wiggle on the right side. I now cover it with a sheet when I use it. It is still a pleasant environment. I'm sure it's worth the money, but I wish I'd spent a little more on better quality.
I ordered it in black, but they sent it to me in. First and foremost, I ordered this in 2013 as a Christmas gift for my father because we don't have many luxury items and I wanted to treat him to something nice. I ordered it black, but they sent me a brown one instead. I had no qualms about returning it for another black, only to discover that it was brown once more. This chair is extremely comfortable, but it loses its appeal after a short period of time. Each night, 2 hours of use is required. This chair was purchased for my father, and he appears to enjoy it, but be aware that it is made of fake leather. After a year of use, it began to fade. Every day, we have to sweep up the tiny brown flecks from the floor. When the fake leather fell off, it became uncomfortable to sleep in because of the rough texture.
In 2014, I bought this chair. The laminated leather began to peel in many areas of the chair about six months ago. My complaint was dismissed when I reported it to Amazon and Warrantech, the company from which I purchased the SmartGuard 5 Year Furniture Protection Plan (via Amazon). The chair was determined to be in good working order. However, because the peeling occurs without any physical contact, it cannot be classified as normal wear and tear. br>Amazon and Warrantech have completely let me down. I wouldn't have paid $35 for the insurance plan. 99 is a number that has proven to be useless. br>More importantly, I will never buy furniture from Amazon again.
That's what I got, but I don't like it when people lie to me. br>br>This recliner isn't made of leather in any way, shape, or form. br>br>Only the seating areas are covered in "bonded" leather, as evidenced by lifting up the upper pillow cover that is Velcro'd to the upper seat back and inspecting the material on the wrong side. It's clearly ground up leather bits that look a little like cork, glued together with vinyl on the right side, which means the outside surface of this material where we sit is plastic, not breathable leather. Split leather (a hide can be split into four pieces) is also available. 6 thin layers of leather bonded to a fabric underlay for strength) would provide a soft surface against the skin. Not this. It's as if you're sitting on plastic wrap in this chair. br>br>On the backs, sides, and piping, plain old knit is used. I can put up with a little hype in a product description, but outright lies irritate me. br>br>I can put up with a little hype in a product description, but outright lies irritate me. br>br>I can put up with a little hype in a product description, but outright lies irritate me. I suppose "Cheap Plastic Recliner" won't sell many chairs, but false advertising doesn't help the manufacturer or Amazon gain trust. The recliner, on the other hand, is extremely comfortable and spacious. In fact, the chair is enormous and takes up a lot of room on the floor. It was simple to put together, but removing it from the massive box it came in was a challenge. The rocking seat height is also acceptable. Without one of the extension handles, the lever that flips up the foot rest for reclining is extremely difficult to return to its original position. This means that someone with limited arm strength may have a difficult time doing so. br>br>I'm hoping this chair will last a few years before my cat goes to his great reward; he's already made claw holes in the arms. It is what it is, and it isn't going to change any time soon. a plastic recliner that is inexpensive and comfortable. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> AFTER 9 MONTHS, THIS RECLINER HAD BROKEN. When I raise the footrest, the back no longer clicks into place to keep me upright, and it falls completely flat. br>br>HOW MUCH MONEY AND MATERIAL WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WA BR>BR>NEW AND FINAL UPDATE: BR>BR>NEW AND FINAL UPDATE: BR>BR>NEW AND FINAL UPDATE: After I emailed Amazon, they promptly refunded the full purchase price. This is a very interesting situation. ^%$@! Although the chair was of poor quality and was made in China, Amazon's customer service was outstanding. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Amazon! My cat hasn't died yet!.
