Questions & Answers

Is the chair genuinely relaxing?

We were blown away by the quality of this chair. Everyone is vying for a seat in it. I was concerned because my husband and I are both tall, but it is extremely comfortable! The chair is the perfect size for a nursery room!

I despise the way velvet makes me feel. Is it smooth and silky?

No, it's not velvet, but it's incredibly plush.

Is there sufficient back and neck support in the chair?

Yes, there is good back support. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no My neck is not supported unless I slouch down in the chair, and I'm 5'8" tall. I'm so dissatisfied! I decided to purchase this chair after reading the other responses.

Is it possible to recline in multiple positions, or does it only have one "fully reclined" position?

When you first pull the lever, you'll recline, and then you'll be able to return to a nearly laying position. For this glider, there are only two recline positions. It also doesn't rock in either position when you're reclining. I hope this has been of assistance.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPLETE TRASH
3/5

I can't give it more than a one-star rating without feeling guilty. Sure, the aesthetics are spot on; it rocks and reclines just enough to be comfortable. It's not overly crowded, and getting in and out isn't difficult. It's small and compact enough that you won't feel overwhelmed or suffocated in a colossal chair designed for one. On the surface, this chair should be a five, but the chair's bones make your investment equal to flushing your money down the toilet. The legs on the recliner only go down if you haven't skipped leg day in a long time, so don't buy it for Grandma who needs to rest, or for a new mom who is trying to carry a new baby from recline mode into their crib without waking them- Alternatively, they can be dropped. However, that is merely a annoyance and not a sufficient reason to deduct more than one star from the chair. The issue that makes this chair completely useless is that it will fall apart in a year or less. If you have anyone living with you other than an infant, or if you plan to use it for more than a few months at most, this chair is not for you. The entire back will eventually collapse, and the wood will begin to crack as a result of the stress placed on the frame as a result of the base not being supported by its foundation. Soon, the chair will be a wonky, wobbly mess leaning to one side, with the back "brace" and "frame" on that side completely cracked and unfixable. Even if you could replace the back of the chair, the structure that is supposed to hold the back of the chair to the base cannot handle the work load in the way that it is designed, so anyone leaning over the back of the chair, or anyone sitting on the chair without the utmost care will surely speed up the process of this chair falling apart, so please look elsewhere unless you only need a chair for a few months. Aside from the chair, don't expect customer service to do anything but laugh at you for buying it. When contacted about the design flaw, it took weeks of emails for them to respond, and when they did, they simply said, "sorry, your warranty has expired," and that was the end of it. A company that doesn't care if their chair is completely useless, or if a family has paid hundreds of dollars for a chair that didn't last the warranty period, or even if their chair was a fluke and not representative of the rest of the chairs like it. You'd think that if it was a fluke, they'd want to fix it, but they weren't surprised by my email or the photos, or they would have offered to do something. So now we're out the absurd amount we paid for a chair that is only worth a fraction of the ticket price and doesn't last as long as a cheap rental folding chair! Dorel Home Furnishings and anyone else who wants to deceive their customers with such garbage should be ashamed! *If anyone is interested, I will upload photos later.

The chair is comfortable, but the price fluctuates a lot
5/5

This chair is actually quite comfortable, with the ability to swivel, glide, and recline, and it was simple to assemble; simply slide the base into the chair's bottom until it clicks, and you're done. So, yes, buy this chair, but keep in mind that prices fluctuate. This was $199 when I bought it, but it's now $457 as I type this. It cost $385 when I first put it on my wish list. It then dropped to $299, then $250, then $260, then $215, then $199 (when I bought it), $300, and finally $485. All of this happened in the span of two days. I was intrigued by the price changes because I had never seen anything like it before. Maybe I got it when Amazon was tweaking their algorithms and got lucky, but I figured I'd at least let you know what it's worth and how low it can go. br>br>***UPDATE**
We've had this chair for almost two years now. We even purchased a second one ($299) four months after the first one was purchased. I'm not a small man; I'm about 275 pounds. My children, who are now 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old, have grown significantly over the last two years. We'll all sit in this chair, legs up and backs reclined, while I read to them. They are jumped on. They leap from the tops of the buildings. We whirl and whirl and whirl and whir I've spent countless nights sleeping on them, either because it's the only place I can sleep because of a bad back or because one of the girls is sick and I'm spending the night in their room. After all of the mistreatment- These chairs are still in excellent condition and perform as well as they did when I first purchased them. I can't express how fantastic they are enough.

This chair is both short-lived and loud
3/5

UPDATE: A hunk of trash has shattered. I bought this chair for my baby's room less than two months ago. She is a motion junkie and, for the time being, needs to be rocked to sleep. This chair was great at first; it glided smoothly, was comfortable, and did the job. The chair began to creak and make a small, easy-to-ignore noise less than a month later, but the noise has gotten much louder since then. This chair now creaks, rattles, clicks, and sounds like Godzilla is about to die. I went through all of the parts to see if there were any missing pieces, but there were none. My 3 month old is starting to despise it because it has turned into a large rocking screech monster. br>I can't blame her; who could fall asleep to the soothing sounds of rusty gates being opened?br>br>If you want a rocker that will get some use from your baby, you should get a lazy boy. The chair has been retired. br>br>UPDATEbr> Its performance has deteriorated further. When we attempted to move it, the bottom section snapped off, scattering broken pieces across the floor and staining my carpet with a black substance. For two average-weight people with a baby, this chair didn't even last two months.

Regrettably, I am unable to recommend this product
3/5

For a year, everything was going swimmingly, until disaster struck. The metal base has developed a fracture, resulting in a loud, irritating squeak that wakes the baby up, defeating the purpose. I contacted the company about receiving a replacement part and followed up, but I have been unable to contact anyone. I would not recommend it.

Not good
3/5

I'm giving it two stars because it's comfortable to sit in for a while, but it has a lot of flaws in general. br>br>First, while my husband was reclining in it holding our newborn baby, the chair FLIPPED OVER. Fortunately, there was a wall close enough behind him that he was able to slide down it instead of crashing to the ground. Second, if I have it reclined, it is impossible (at least for me) to get out of it by myself while holding baby. It's necessary to use far too much force. Third, a button is already coming off. It's only been a few days since we started using it. Fourth, when I rock in it, it makes a clicking sound, which is annoying when I'm rocking in it at all hours of the night. br>br>I'd like to return it, but the deadline has passed. I'm hoping that by writing this review, I'll be able to help other mothers.
