Questions & Answers

What is the minimum seat height from the floor to the seat's top edge?

The distance between the ground and the front of the seat is 19 inches. It's worth noting that I swapped out my 2" wheels for 3". It's possible that he's 18 inches tall. Even when I'm on an 8-hour late-night support call, it's extremely comfortable.

My height is 5'3" and my weight is 260 pounds. Is this the right chair for me?

Even on the lowest setting, it's probably a little too high.

Can this chair accommodate my height of 5'8"?

It will be too big for me because I am 6'2 and the arms are a little wide. However, if you're a big guy, it might be a good idea.

Do you rock back and forth in your chair, and do you rock back and forth in your seat as well?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. It rocks, as does the entire seat backrest, but it can't be locked in an angled position.

a feature that is not present. This was purchased to replace an Arozzi Vernaza that was way too expensive, uncomfortable, and downright painful to use. The Arozzi pushed my posture into an excruciatingly uncomfortable position, resulting in not only bad posture and ergonomics, but also pain on multiple levels. While it had all of the basic features that an overpriced chair should have (the "premium" fabric still didn't breathe), some chair experts I spoke with said the Vernazza was a joke of a product at the price it was listed, that the padding wouldn't last more than a year, maybe two, and that the size was designed for a person with abnormally long legs and abnormally short torso. br>br>I was told to check out the AKRacing Opal. While there is no reason for a chair at this price to not have tilt angle lock, I contacted AKRacing to see if there was a hardware option to add it. They didn't have one that would fit the Opal, which I believe is a disservice to the chair and the price (the current MSRP is $360, which is a joke). That money should not be spent. I paid $305 for mine, which is a much more reasonable price, though still a little high. br>br>The chair itself is nice, with good quality arm rests, a lower base height than most other gaming chairs, and a flat portion of the seat back that is wider than most other gaming chairs I've measured (this was designed to be more of an office style chair than a gaming chair). The ergonomics are vastly improved), and my posture is no longer forced into an unnatural position. br>The seat is a few inches shorter than the Vernazza, but this does not cause my legs to become numb due to a lack of circulation. br>The seat cushion padding is still a little thin, but that could just be me having hip issues; it is MUCH softer than the Vernazza, and I can still sit in it without needing a 3rd party extra cushion, though I do still have an open coccyx support pillow, which may be a necessary addition to all of my chairs at this point. br>At first, the fabric is rough to the touch, and it still sweats a little, but I solved this by simply draping a towel over the parts of the chair with which I have bare skin contact, as I prefer to work at my computer shirtless. br>The seat is wide enough for me to spread out and still be comfortable, though the very corners of the seat are a little too long for the backs of my knees to rest on. br>The fabric option should be the default against that revolting PU leather garbage that shouldn't even exist. br>br>The warranty on this is significantly better than anything else on the market. br>br>This was a must-have for me - I was hurt at work, and the chair I replaced wasn't doing me any good. It wasn't tall enough to fully lay back in, and after 5 years of use, it was falling apart. The only chairs with a tall enough back for me to lean back in and have my head fully supported were gaming chairs. The neck pillow is a better shape than most other chairs, which have a pitiful little lump of fibers with no real design to act as a pillow. However, I believe the neck pillow was the best feature of the Vernazza. br>br>Finally, I believe this is a well-made chair that should be the first choice for most people who require a tall back and a cloth option. Unless you want to pay even more for other brands that have no justification for being so expensive, this chair is the most ergonomic of the "gaming chairs. " "Made by hand" or "manufactured" Get this one while it's on sale, and AKRacing better include a tilt angle lock on this model in the future, because there's no reason not to at this price.

I was expecting a more comfortable chair, but I was disappointed
3/5

I bought this chair to replace an 18-month-old KillaBee chair that was replacing a seven-year-old DXracer. KillBee is a colossal failure, and I will never do business with them again. So, after reading some reviews on this AKRacing model with the class 4 lift, I decided to go for it, despite the fact that I'm not a small man (6'1" 272lbs). br>The first one was delivered on time and was simple to put together. It was very comfortable, but after sitting on it for a few days, it sank about 2 inches. Unfortunately, Amazon did not allow me to simply request a new lift, so I had to settle for a replacement. It was quickly approved, and the second chair was delivered to me. The problem remains the same. I emailed AKRacing directly, and they didn't respond for another 11 days. I submitted the requested documents while reiterating that I may be the world's unluckiest man when it comes to chairs; After sitting on it for a while, the lift drops about 2 inches. Since responding to the tech's email, I haven't heard from them. At this point, I'm going to stick with DXracer and get a King Series PRO or a Secretlab TITAN, which is probably what I should have done earlier. br>Again, a very comfortable chair that is simple to put together, but I'm not sure what's up with the lift they're using or the lack of customer service.

I found exactly what I needed
3/5

Until it came close to killing me. Years ago, I had an AK racing chair that I paid $150 for (which I thought was highway robbery at the time), but it was my absolute favorite; I wasn't interested in spending more than $200 on a chair, so I spent nearly $500 on three different chairs. Each one lasted only a year before I tired of it and threw it away or gave it away. Finally, I bit the bullet and purchased a new AK-47. This is an excellent choice. I work from home and spend nearly 16 hours each day in front of the computer. After hours of computer work, my butt does not hurt in this chair because it is firm. After a while, the armrests become a little uncomfortable, but I can get pads for them or simply get up and stop working so much. 8/22/21 - br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> Okay, after nearly two years of ownership, I'm updating my review. Although this chair is comfortable, I can't tell you how many times it has tipped over on me. It will tip over if you bend forward even slightly to pick something up from the floor. I'm fortunate that I haven't yet broken my nose. I was about to sit down when I realized I had misjudged the chair's position by a few inches and it had flipped! My roommate came in to see what was going on, and after an expletive-laced tirade, I'm looking for a new chair on Amazon.

Although this is a nice chair, it could be better for the money
3/5

This was a relatively simple project to complete. All of the parts were present and functional, which is a pretty low bar to meet, but given the reviews of other chairs, I thought it was worth mentioning. The chair is acceptable in terms of comfort, but not exceptional. The fabric seams are a little flimsy, but not bad. The cushioning is adequate, but you can feel the frame without exerting too much effort; only time will tell whether the padding holds up or falls apart; if the padding does not hold up, it will be quite uncomfortable. The reclining function works fine, but anything more than a small amount of reclining feels awkward, as if the balance is off and the hinge isn't properly positioned for human body mechanics. br>br>Overall, I think it's a decent chair. Nothing spectacular, but unless you want to spend a lot of money, the competition is pretty low.
