There is great detail, but there is no coupling or light to speak of
3/5

They are not heavy, so they can't pull much without derailing. I like the details of the trains, but they aren't so powerful. On Bachmann Thomas trains, there is also an issue with the couplings. There is always a problem with the springs coming out and they are very small and difficult to reinstall. The coupler mechanisms need to be improved so that the coupling mechanisms do not break. So far, we have several of these for our Thomas the train lover (and no other option). There should be a quick way to put weights in them so they can stay on the tracks, but I am afraid opening up the train would be dangerous.

It is not intended to be used heavily
3/5

The two Oliver engines we owned failed after use after only a short period of time. As a result of both cases, a motor is deemed to have failed. We are not talking about worn brushes, foreign material in the wheels, or a build up of gunk on the wheels rather, it is clearly a failed motor. I wonder if Oliver has a smaller motor than all the other Bachmann Thomas engines, which makes him more prone to premature failure if he has excessive wear or heat in operation. We are disappointed to have this engine parked permanently at the steam works for $80. This engine should last a lifetime for this price.

This is not- It's a pity that Great Western Engine did not deliver on this product

There are some issues with his eyes and he's very weak, according to reports. Thought it was a neat design.
