Is it possible to use a non-dcc layout to run this drain? My son would enjoy this locomotive, which I have all of the old school locomotives from the 1970s. ?

Most DCC boards can run on analog (old school) power and are programmed to do so by the manufacturer. Increase the power to around 1/3 and wait a few seconds for it to respond. After that, you can adjust the speed as needed. You still get some sound effects, which is a bonus. Good luck with your railroading.

This is a train that will take you for a ride

I bought it for my son's Christmas present, and it came with no tracks. It's tiny and way too expensive, and the worst part is that I won't be able to return it because my refund won't arrive for another two months. I'm now stuck on a train that serves no purpose. I'm very dissatisfied with this purchase. They stated on the item that there were only two left after I purchased it, but it still stated the same. I wish there was a way for me to give it a negative five star rating. Thank you so much for ruining one small town single father's Christmas with your 16-inch train with no features and a total price of $287.
