It was wobbly, and when I checked it, the screws that hold the wheels were loose. I tried tightening them, but discovered that the inside box where the screw goes was already broken and turning freely. This is most likely returned merchandise that has been repackaged and shipped as new. I was gone for two months, so my return is too late. $18 had been squandered. I'm attempting to repair it as best I can. If you want to return it, don't buy it or check it for broken parts as soon as it arrives.
This flat car is well-made and heavier than I anticipated, which I find to be a positive. br>The paint and lettering are nice, and the wheels and trucks are fantastic, to say the least. This is something I would tell my friends about.
These flatcars appealed to me; they roll well, and the black brake wheel on this one is a winner in my book. Cars run fine until surgery is performed, but when you disassemble them, the bottom deforms, as I discovered the hard way with my orange one. This one still runs smoothly, and I hope I never have to disassemble it; however, they derail frequently after that, and I haven't figured out how to fix the problem once the trucks are all out of whack due to the deformed base. For the time being, I am satisfied. After five hours: I'm returning it to you. This makes me angry. The black one will no longer run without derailing on turnouts, which the other cars do not have any issues with. In less than a week, two of the four cars were found to be worthless. However, it appears to be in good condition. I deducted a star because I don't think I'll be buying any more Walthers cars. br>br>2nd update: br>br> Since replacing the Bachmann 33" metal wheels, there have been no derailments. It's the Silly Brand Wars, now that we've figured it out! If you're going to run Bachmann track, I'd stay away from Walthers. The wheels aren't designed to work together. Still docking two stars for the cost of replacing the wheels with a different brand, which costs $4 per car and adds up quickly! I did some research on wheel shape and discovered that even a 1/2 degree difference in taper or a few thousandths of an inch difference in radius between the "tire" and the inner flange can make a wheel unhappy in one track vs. another. another. Maybe if I upgrade to Flex Track, I'll give Walthers another chance, but they're not on any of my wish lists right now. Later!.
It's smooth to use. Nice attention to detail.
good item.
