No, if you're referring to the 'horn hook' style, but it's simple to change out by purchasing and installing some couplers that fit.
Pad is more of a fine cleaning stone than a scrubbing pad. On my track, it appears to work well. My locomotives are running better than ever before, with nice, bright rails.

The springs are in good shape, and the cleaning block is nicely pressed against the track by the springs. However, it frequently derailed and left a dreadful impression on the track. Coming from Walthers, this is a bit of a letdown. It appears to be of reasonable quality, with adequate detail. For a clean car, it's a good match.
Excellent track cleaner that is both heavy and well-made. I haven't had any contact issues since I started using this. I experimented with various locos and found that the 8 and 12 wheel power locos performed the best. Due to the weight and the gritty stone beneath the cleaner, my tuggers were unable to pull it and simply spun their wheels. This was an excellent purchase.
It's a little heavy, but it's no problem for my trains to pull or push. It keeps my track clean and my trains running at their peak. It's the best purchase I've ever made.
Be aware that track cleaning cars are heavy, but there is a high grit hard pad at the bottom of the car that does an excellent job. This car is used in conjunction with a Bachann track cleaning tanker, which has a softer pad on which I spray track cleaning fluid. Following the use of these two cars, I can see an improvement in engine performance on the next pass. As I previously stated, they are heavy, so if you use a lot of uphill layouts, you may only be able to fit up to three additional cars on the train, even with a good engine.
logging- 18" radius curves in a mining layout. When the locomotive is on the track, the pad appears to slip off the outside rail, becomes wedged, and derails it. br>br>However, when it is on the track, it cleans up nicely.
didn; When I put it on tracks, it kept tilling, so it didn't do a great job.
It does a fantastic job of keeping the tracks clean. It has a good weight, but at least for me, a decently strong loco is required.
This boxcar arrived on time and looked exactly like it did on the website.
