It's HO scale, yes.
I recently purchased two flat log cars with knuckle couplers that were not Bachmann EZ Mate couplers, as the car you mention has. I'm not sure when those cars were built, but they have a number of different knuckle couplers. Because they are incompatible with the EZ mate design, I simply parked them on a siding for aesthetic purposes. It's best to call Bachmann and speak with their tech support.

The lettering and numbers are crisp. Nice car. The lettering and numbers are crisp. Another feature I appreciate is that the car comes with a fresh coat of paint. Don't get me wrong, I like dull-looking things, but it saved me a lot of time when it came to weathering. units that have been exposed to the elements Anyone who enjoys model trains should consider purchasing this car.
For a starter set, it's not too shabby. Couplers were a stumbling block. Automobiles would be delivered in a state of disconnection.
Very well constructed and larger than anticipated.
For a big car, it runs very well. There have been no derailments so far. I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the fact that it's not my favorite Canadian grain hopper paint job.
I really like the bachmann train details, and the quality is excellent. a lot of details, nice decals, and a nice coupling.
It's all good.
Wonderful.
