Questions & Answers
In general, the higher the grit of the sanding medium you use, the better the result; there are polishing kits that go all the way up to 12,000 grit (Detail Master sells one). When you combine that with a good polishing compound and a good Carnauba wax, you should be able to achieve some amazing results. br>The Tamiya polishing compounds are sold as a set. Even the "course" grade, I've discovered, isn't particularly aggressive, but it does appear to produce better overall results than relying solely on the "Fine" and "Finish" grades.
Yes. It's worked for me with enamels, acrylics, and lacquers.
I haven't tried it for that purpose, so I'm not sure. However, it should suffice because it works in all other situations.
I've used them both before and after clear coat on a number of occasions. I usually use the fine compound before applying clear to enhance the color, and then I'll use it again after applying clear to help polish it, then buff it off and repeat with the finish compound to really shine the clear.

For my kits, I've been using genuine car polishing compounds, but they don't compare to this. Tamiya's polishing and finishing compound is silky smooth and simple to use. The gleam is visible almost immediately. It also leaves no residue between the panel lines, which is a plus. br>br>As is customary with Tamiya products, they can be a little pricey, but their high quality is well worth the money. br>br>I recommend Tamiya's color-coded applicator wipes for this project. A must-have in the toolbox of any hobbyist!.
This is what I got to clean the needles on my airbrush. br>I use cheap airbrushes to do things that I wouldn't want to do with my expensive airbrush, and the cheap airbrushes could use a little TLC to improve their performance. The airbrush spray pattern is noticeably different after a simple polishing with a cotton swab and the rubbing compound. br>This is one of those items that can languish in a drawer for a long time before being needed.
Pricey, but as with all Tamiya items, of excellent quality! This is an absolute must if you build models.
This is a great product that works well and is well worth the money. I use it to finish all of my models. I'm going to buy more.
To achieve a professional finish, use Tamiya Wax. More how-to videos can be found on YouTube.
I'm always impressed by the paint jobs on scale model cars that I see in magazines. I used these Tamyia polish compounds to polish the hood of a 1963 Corvette model and got a similar result. Instead of the Finish compound, I got the Coarse version.
It works like a charm! TS-Buff is a product that is used to buff out TS-Buff. After using 1000-watt light, the room is 13 times brighter. To sand out the orange peel, use a 2000 grit sandpaper.
Polishing is a breeze. Tamiya products are always a hit with me, and this one is no exception. They've helped me polish to a mirror finish.
