Selected User Reviews For Pro-Line Racing 1/10 Hyrax Predator Front/Rear 1.9" Rock Crawling Tires (2), PRO1012803
The grip that these things provide is incredible! The Predator compound is as sticky as the slicks on my drag racing car, which I use only on the track! Crawling uphill tributary creeks with slick rocks and steep climbs with moving water is no problem for the Hyrax tires! When used with stock foams, they wrinkle and hook like a boss. If you've added a lot of weight to your rig, I'd recommend slightly stiffer foams for these puppies, because they're VERY STICKY and pliable! This is, without a doubt, the best upgrade available! It was well worth the money. Also, keep all four tires off the ground and without any weight on them when storing your rig.
The packaging, on the other hand, appears to be far too realistic. After reading several reviews, I decided to give these a try to see if they could help me improve my performance on my crawler course, where I was experiencing some wheel slip. Allow me to clarify that "soft" does not necessarily imply "sticky. " These aren't sticky, just soft, and they conform well to objects, but the sidewalls are far too soft, causing a lot of rolling. They, too, have a tendency to balloon out of control. They don't stick to smooth surfaces very well. In addition, they are too light for crawler tires. I have a set of tires that I paid only $20 for all four of them and they work much better. Don't be fooled by the marketing gimmicks. I've tried five different tires on my rig, and these aren't even in the top three. If you go with Gmade, Injora, or Austar, or even hobbysoul, you will be happier, and your wallet will be as well. Perhaps after they've broken in, they'll be able to work more efficiently.
I was hesitant to purchase these tires because there was/is a lot of hype surrounding them, which irritates me. After some consideration, I decided to purchase them, and I am glad I did. These tires are fantastic; they're extremely soft, have an open tread pattern, and have rubber molded writing on the sidewalls, which adds a nice touch. Trailing and rock crawling with these tires is a dream. I installed them on an Axial SCX 10 II and noticed a significant improvement in the truck's performance. Where my stock tires used to spin, you can actually see the tire deform and bite. I breezed through previously insurmountable challenges. The included foams appear to be adequate, as you can see the tire deform and bite on obstacles, as I previously stated. For my Redcat Axe, I've already placed an order for a new set.
These tires are a great deal; they're soft and grippy and come in a variety of sizes. However, if you're looking for crawler tires, don't just follow the crowd; you must also consider the terrain. These are the best if you're going to be driving mostly on rocks, but if you're going to be mudding, you'll want something else.
I'm not sure I can say enough good things about these tires; they're incredible. I use them on my Traxxas TRX-S for both crawling and trail riding. They're a size 4 in 4 Sport. 75 . The grip on these is incredible. I'm using a dual stage foam with them, and they're perfect together. These are something I would strongly suggest.
OMG! They're incredibly gentle. Only 6 months have passed since I began crawling. I saw what an advantage he had over me because a friend had a set. So now that I have these, I am able to keep up with and stick to a lot more things!.
Great tires I have several sets of ProLine tires, and they are all excellent tires when used for their intended purpose.
These are excellent for rock crawling. This product, in my opinion, is required when upgrading your tires.
