Place one hand on each side of the pad and twist it inward, rolling your thumbs toward your chest and raising your elbows outward; the pad will fold over in smaller circles. It takes a little getting used to.
Yes, the landing pad is 30 inches long with two anchoring options.
Because the pad collapses into a figure 8 and then folds over itself into two circle "springs," it will automatically unfold if you let go of it.
The carabiner was not included in the package contents when I purchased it on January 1st, 2021.

I wasn't sure if I needed or wanted it, or if I'd use it much. It works well on hard surfaces (cement, road, gravel, etc. ) as well as grass and sandy areas. It's lightweight and simple to unfold and refold, and I don't even use the anchors that come with it (though I did use them twice when the wind was particularly strong). It may not appear to do much, but I have a Mavic Mini, and the best part is that it protects the camera due to its low position on the drone. The camera is on the ground or in the grass without a landing pad, especially when it is starting up. This is simple to deploy and assists in the protection of the drone during takeoff and landing. It's also nice that other people can see it, as it encourages them to stay away from that area, rather than approaching you for a closer look. This aids in the creation of an impenetrable boundary around which they tend to avoid. That has an unintended benefit! Overall, I've found this to be a fantastic product that I've used almost every time I've flown my drone. br>br>The included straps for the Mini are a little long. They still function, but there is a lot of slack that must be dealt with. If you're looking for a landing pad, this is the one I'd suggest.
Alternatively, they can suck up dust and dirt, which is bad for the electronics. I used to use a piece of thin plywood as a target, but it wasn't as light or compact as this one. I investigated a number of different models and manufacturers. This one is 30" in diameter, which is large enough for most UAVs, but the main difference is the weighted anchors on all four corners. Using ground stakes or weights in bags I use some large metal washers to ensure that nothing sticks up and catches a rotor blade, ruining it. br>This version has a metal ring that allows you to fold it into a much smaller circle, and everything fits into a storage bag included. These types of collapsible devices are familiar to me because they are similar to the reflectors I use in my photo studio. However, if you're not used to them, you'll need to put in some practice time. It has two sides; don't try to force it and you'll be fine. The first has a red background, while the second has a black background. Both are fine in my opinion, though I would have preferred the black side to be fluorescent orange. Overall, this is a good product, and the only thing I can't say about its durability is that I don't see why it wouldn't last a long time. br>For those who think they don't need this and fly and land on grass or dirt, think again. That puts the prop and the motor at risk of being damaged.
It was a good concept, but it only lasted three uses before it began to rip apart. The sizing is ideal, with plenty of leeway for landings. I like the fact that there are four mounting locations and that you can use weighted bags if it's windy or you're on the beach. The main flaw was that it began to rip after the third use, forcing me to return it. I imagine that by the fourth or fifth day, the metal band would no longer be attached to the fabric, rendering it useless.
Excellent landing pad for your quads, folds up easily, and the weight pouches are convenient. I filled mine with one-inch washers, taped them together, then placed in bag and tied closed because anything else would be too messy. Ground stakes are decent and come with their own little pouch in the carry case, highly recommended!.
This was purchased for my Mavic Air 2, which was my first drone. It's a fantastic landing pad with a lot of visibility. There are stakes to secure it, and if stakes aren't available where you are, there are weighted bags to use (you supply the weight).
My Mavic Pro, on the other hand, missed it every time, instead landing a foot away. I tried a blue towel instead, and it always stuck that landing, so it must be something to do with my drone, though it appears to work for some people. I give it two stars because it appears to be well made and convenient; it just doesn't work for me.
The weight bags were the deciding factor in my first landing pad purchase. It's brilliant, but it's also ridiculously straightforward. Even a noob like me could see the utility of the weighted bags in terms of function, and I cringed at the fact that this was the only manufacturer who used them.
Stakes are included, just like the sand bags. It's a nice bag to carry everything around in. If you own a drone, this is a must-have accessory.
