These are now fitted to my rustler 4x4's wheels. To see what the performance difference is, I haven't run them yet. There is quite a bit of difference in spring length between stock and springs. It took the biggest spacer to load and still nothing came out. I was able to get the spring to load up by moving the shock over one hole on the control arm. Since the suspension was lowered, the entire car sits lower.
It is a better shock than the stock one on the Slash 2WD, but we need it to be an additional 1/2 inch long. Even adding a full spacer was not enough to get any load on my circuit!.
Neither the Traxxas Slash Platinum nor the Traxxas Ultimate shocks (GTR) are compatible with these. I would not have purchased these shocks if I knew the holes were only a millimeter too narrow for the upgraded shocks.
I bought this traxxas product because I had to add spares to the rear. As I did not test my oe springs with the spare tires on, I'm not really sure if the spare tires made a difference. This is still a great Traxxas product, so nothing to complain about.
I found the Traxxas quality to be exactly what I expected.
When used with shock oil that is a bit thicker, it works great on slash 4x4.
You should not install these springs on the rear since they are too short. They are fine for the front, but if you do, you will have to add lots of spacers and the travel will be reduced.
With these on top of my big bore shock kit and 80 pound shock fluid, my landings are remarkably stable. With my ATV VXL I don't have to worry about bottoming out.
