These lights have left me very disappointed. I'm glad I didn't cut holes in the body before checking that they worked properly; plugging them in was as simple as taking off my waterproof receiver box lid and plugging them in; however, I'm very disappointed with the results; I tried with and without the metal housing around the light, hoping that perhaps with the metal housing, it would amplify the brightness; however, it appears to do nothing; the rear lights aren't that bad, but they're still not that bright; however, the front lights.
It was used to give a slash some light. The housing for the lights can be used to mount them directly to the bumpers, eliminating the need to worry about them becoming stuck to the body.
I'm not sure why, but one of the light cases was different from the other three, so when installed, it will look odd. The lights work perfectly and are much brighter than expected, so be aware that your battery may be depleted. Installation was simple; it is connected to channel 3 on my Traxxas Rustler stock XL5 and adds realism to my Rusty. 4 out of 5 stars 5 stars, but I have OCD, and having one part that isn't the same shape as the others irritates me greatly.
While I was putting the lights on my slash, one of the front white lights mysteriously went out. I attempted to repair it with electronic tape, but it failed. I'll be returning these, and if you want to avoid making the same mistake I did, go to a hobby store and buy some name brand lights that last longer than a minute. I'm guessing the working lights were bright enough.
It is well worth the money.
Apply a dab of hot glue to the back of the led where the wires enter; this part is brittle, but the lights are good.
Not bad. When rc moves, however, he does not stay in the housing. In the absence of some modifications.
One of my favorite upgrades is turning on the lights. Unfortunately, the solder on these only lasted one run, and I use a lot of cable management to ensure that there is enough slack.
