This LED light kit was used to illuminate the four holes on the Gen 8's front bumper. Because I had already used a separate light kit for the headlamp, indicator, and brake lights on the body, I chose to remove the four red LED lights from this eight-light kit. This is only for the frame mounts. What you should know. br>br> br>br>The Gen 8 uses 5MM LED lights, which are included in this kit. Once I got them where I wanted them, I used clear exterior caulk/adhesive to secure them in place. The 5MM lights fit loosely and will need to be held in place while the glue dries; I used painters tape to keep them in place while the glue dried. Alternatively, you could drill out the bumper's holes to accommodate the metal reflector mounts that come with the kit. That's exactly what I did, and I'm glad I did it. With them, the light is a little more focused. br>br>The CH3 on the Gen 8 receiver is used to power these lights. Even if you only use the four lights, the receiver will provide plenty of brightness. If you want to use all eight lights, you'll need to use a separate 9V battery to power them; otherwise, they'll be too dim to be useful. br>br>For the price, I'm very happy, and I'll buy these again if I ever need some.
I installed these in a Losi 22SCT truck so that my friends and I could have a good time after dark. They are powered by the BEC and are plugged into a spare receiver channel. For the time being, I've just taped it in place, but I plan to design and 3D print permanent mounts in the future.
Although it does not illuminate the path as well as other lights, it provides a great visual for seeing the car while bashing or on the trail.
For the money, this is one of the best light kits available. These lights were used on both my son's and my RC trucks for night driving. Anyone looking for a simple light kit to install should consider this product.

I like these lights because they complement my X - Maxx used all eight on both sides, and we strongly advise you to do so as well.
