Questions & Answers

What is the voltage output?

2amps 4. 8'to 7. 4 volts!

Is it capable of withstanding water?

No, it won't keep you dry in the rain. Shrink tubing is used to wrap it, but it isn't sealed. You can make it water resistant if you want, but keep in mind that electronics produce heat that must be dissipated.

Is it possible to connect a y cable to this and use it to power my light bar and eight LED lights (headlights and taillights) all from my channel 3 port, or is that too much?

With this one switch and y splitters, I run one 8 led harness and both rear and front bumpers 2 led each. I haven't had any problems yet.

I have a futaba 3pv transmitter with a switch for turning on or off the third channel; is this device required to use the switch on/off feature?

Yes. Your radio's ch3 will become an on/off switch as a result of this.

To reach full potential, some changes are required
4/5

The power from the rc receiver is used to power this switch, which allows an accessory to be powered. If you use it the way it came out of the box, you'll only be able to use whatever voltage your receiver supports, and you'll quickly run out of amperage. Remove the ground and positive wires from the reciever's connection lead and connect them to your battery (max 7. 4 vdc) and the remaining wire (signal wire) into the reciever on the channel you'll be controlling the switch with. This will allow you to use the full 2 amps of power and voltage. You'll need to use the same battery that powers the receiver (common ground).

For the price, this is an excellent product
5/5

I have two of these in my Redcat Gen8 Scout II, and they are fantastic. They're used to control various light sets. My radio is a 6ch RadioLink RC6GS. This enables me to control the lights using the switches with the extra channels.

It is compatible with the TRX4 receiver box
5/5

Purchased to use with a TRX4 Sport Kit that I built using a Tactic TTX300 radio system to run the Traxxas light kit. When the esc/receiver is turned on, the Traxxas light controller (plugged into ch3 of the Rx) is turned on as well. The 3rd channel can be used to turn on and off the lights with this switch. br>br>The switch performs as expected, does not overheat, and is easy to use. Being able to control the lights from the Tx is a big hit with my son. I anticipated having to shorten the cables, but I was able to fit everything into the receiver box without difficulty.

Apex rc products have a proven track record of success
5/5

I have several Apex light bars, switches, servo horns, and other Apex products, all of which are of exceptional quality. Put one lightbar on a traxxas ruslter vlx and wow, it took a lot of abuse before the wiring snapped off the soldering points and mangled the housing quite badly during the process. For 50 mph wipe-outs, the light pod and led board were of good quality and strong, so I took them home and re-soldered them later. This light bar was amazing and now lives on a dedicated crawling rig. It lit back up like nobody's business, has been through mud, water, and even fire. br> My other light bar spent 10 minutes (on) in an 8-foot-deep lake while I was trying to fish it out with a shovel; the light bar was the only way I could see it. And I've had no problems with that same light bar since I pulled it out of the water. I didn't turn it off at all. br>br>The switches, like most Apex products, are of excellent quality and are simple to connect to the desired channel and toggle. I will definitely be ordering many, many more switches from Apex, and I recommend them to anyone looking for a good price, good quality light bars, and switches. Thanks.

You'll need a switch for your three-channel transmitter
5/5

My GT2 FlySky B is made up of three different channels. So I put some leds in for some night bashing. The lights came on, but the only way to turn them off was to unplug the receiver from the wall. I needed a switch, which is exactly what this is. It worked after I plugged it in. I can think of a lot of apps that would be entertaining to install. Smoke, fog, projectile firing, and perhaps a water cannon are all possibilities. This is a fantastic invention.

It was a waste of money
3/5

When connected to a receiver, it turns on and off as it should, but only produces 1 watt of power. 74 volts. 6. is being delivered by the receiver To switch, 1 volt is required. These were checked using a meter. The switchboard has a problem with the output through voltage; do not recommend this product because it does not deliver the through voltage as described.

Using the controller to turn on and off accessories is a great idea
5/5

Installing your receiver is as simple as plugging it in and turning it on. I used this with a Losi Tenacity DB Pro for the light bar because I didn't want it to turn on when the car was turned on and plugging and unplugging wasn't an option. It was plugged into aux 3 on the receiver and the aux switch on the controller was turned on. The lights turn on and off with a bang. It's that simple.

It does exactly what it says! It's perfect! It connects to CH3 on my receiver and then to the light on my remote control
5/5

I didn't have to do any setup or adjustments because it worked right out of the box with my transmitter's previously unused CH3 button. I now have a remote-controlled light that I can turn on without having to remove my body. I purchased a second for one of my RCs.
