The tank in this picture is a tank. The Tiger Tank in its full glory. As an outdoor toy, I do not think it would be very useful. As long as surfaces are flat, even, and hard, it performs superbly. Despite its size, the tank has a powerful gun capable of punching The graphics are very clear, and the remote controls feel good in my hand.
I think Amazon is buying cheaply damaged guns and then selling us broken ones at full price. Looking at my two orders, both have had broken guns in them.
In the manual, there were no instructions on how to control it except a rough translation saying "when the light blinks you can't control it. ". In the beginning, we tried to locate their phone number, but only found an 18 digit number with a Chinese area code after hours on the internet. The problem was due to the radio chips, as we learned when we searched online. As soon as we attempted to remove those parts, we found that they were installed backwards. Second, when we pulled the chips out of the remote and the tank, we discovered that they did not match in frequency 2, which was a fatal error. 2 weeks later, we asked for another set of chips and they arrived in the bottom of an envelope, where they could have easily been damaged or lost. The two we originally had did not match the ones they sent us - but one of them matched the one we had originally. Then we tried them to find that they didn't I brought the tank to my son's teacher, who said that he wanted to see what it was all about. As soon as the chip was put in backwards, when we pulled it out, the input came right off the circuit board. He showed how it had torn the board away from the circuit. This is over now that we got 82 dollars back for it. It would be a good buy compared to more reliable $300 tanks that are almost the same but be prepared to make your own personal repairs and to have to spend about another $30 or so. The product must be adjusted to work properly for an additional $50, but it's still a good deal compared to a twice as expensive product. I would not recommend this product as a gift or for those without experience with electronics. I now have the option of removing the review to return the 25% restocking fee. The company has probably done this with other customers and that's why the bad reviews are gone for the most part.
The first game you play is a lot of fun and great value. I have not had a problem and the smoke starts as soon as I press the button. I really like the canon and it shoots the BBs across the yard. One note, it doesn't come with silver/metal gears like the pictures showed, that is a disappointment but we move forward! For it to look realistic, it will need detailing and weathering.
