Tank is a lot of fun
5/5

Before purchasing this tank, I read every review available on it as well as thousands of others. It was difficult for me to pay the price when there were so many others available for half the price, albeit without the all-metal tracks and drive sprockets. br>However, this one looked so cool that I couldn't resist. br>br>In a nutshell, I like the paint job and the attention to detail. br>Accessories are a bit of a pain; I'm not sure where to put the metal tow cable, and the machine gun needs to be glued in place or it will fall out. Unless you're only going to use it for display. The tank commander is alright, but the paint job is a complete shambles. br>br>At 17 pounds for the tank alone, it's a hefty tank. If you don't get a removable type lock and put it on the bolt that holds the drive sprockets, the drive sprockets will fall off every 20 minutes or so. If you want to use permanent lock tight, that's fine, but I didn't want to because I might need to remove the sprockets at some point. br>br>The tank's movement and controls are flawless, and the remote is excellent, though I would have preferred the type with the start switches on top of the remote, similar to the Heng long tanks. But it's all right. br>br>The gun fires perfect BBs as do all air soft tanks, but what makes this one stand out is that the tank rocks back and forth to simulate the main gun's concussion. Last but not least, buy better batteries and a smart charger. The battery is a 1800 MAH and will only last about 15 to 20 minutes when shooting BBs or just simulating it with the gun button on the remote labeled Kbr>br>Last but not least, buy better batteries and a smart charger. The charger, on the other hand, is a disaster. There are no lights to indicate when the battery is fully charged, and you should never leave it charging and forgetting about it because it will melt the battery and charger. For $57, I purchased two 3800 MAH batteries with smart charger. 99br>Copy and paste the following description into the Amazon search bar to see what I mean. This is fantastic; I've been running my tank for at least 45 minutes on one of these 3800 MAH batteries and haven't needed to recharge yet. Of course, I only use it for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, but it's been running for at least 45 minutes and is still going strong. br>br>I'm not sure if this tank will ever be available again because I purchased the last one available. However, it appeals to me. I wish they'd make a Sherman tank replica with the same metal construction and size. But for the same price: all of the AShermans with metal tracks I've found are around $600. 00 I'll never buy a toy for that price. This is a collector's item, and I would not recommend it as a toy for children because it is too costly and heavy. br>Two br>Two br>Two br> High-capacity NiMH batteries with a voltage of 2 volts and a capacity of 3800 milliamperes. 2V- Charger for 12 volts.

Tank is very nice
5/5

This was my first RC tank, and I paid $259 for it. So far, it has left an impression on me. According to what I've seen, this Taigen Tiger is essentially a Heng Long Tiger with a snazzy paint job and a slew of upgrades. The following are a few of the appealing characteristics:
1. The tank has a very nice paint job. Painting is also done on the figure.
2. Metal tracks, wheels, machine gun attachment, gears, and a metal hull make up the tank. The tank's hull is metal, but it's surrounded by a plastic shell (I believe it's an Asiatam hull). You can't see or touch the metal except at the bottom of the tank (or if it's opened up). I had the impression that the hull's entire exterior would be made of metal, but this is not the case. The important thing is that the metal hull is connected to the wheels, gears, and other interior accessories, making the tank's structural element metal and thus durable.
3. This tank is a hefty piece of equipment! AWESOME! Have them pick it up if you want to impress them!
4. I'm new to RC tanking, so it's possible that I'm not charging the battery properly or for long enough, but it doesn't last very long. It's also possible that this is due to the tank's heavy weight. Only more metal on the tank would be a real improvement. br>br> The gun barrel, turret, and exterior hull of the tank are all made of plastic. Mato recently released an all-metal Tiger, which will most likely be my next tank. Having said that, I have no regrets about buying it. The all-metal Mato tank costs around $449, but that is only for an unfinished tank without internals or a radio. The Taigen is a good compromise because metal is used where it matters most, and plastic is used on parts that aren't moving or stressed. br>br>I'm hoping Taigen produces tanks with metal wheels, tracks, gears, and hulls. If that's the case, I'll definitely order more. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> This was my first RC tank, and while I've since purchased a few more, I still consider this to be my favorite; however, the battery life is poor when compared to my regular Heng Longs, which are much lighter. This, however, is not a major issue; simply purchase a new battery. br>br>Some of the negative reviews on this site make valid points. The instructions that came with mine were for the base heng long model, which has a different hull and battery and other electronics placement. If you can't figure it out on your own, there's a video on YouTube (search for Taigen Tiger) that will show you how to do it. Also, the wheels do come off; I've had my idler wheels and a few road wheels fall off. Purchase some Loctite and apply it to the appropriate areas. All of the RC tanks I've bought have problems with the wheels and tracks, so don't get into this hobby unless you're willing to fix things yourself. The fact that the wheels have come off does not imply that the tank is useless! Don't toss a perfectly good tank out the window. br>br>Overall, I'm still happy with my tank purchase.
