Questions & Answers
The padding dimensions are basically the same on V1 and V2, so it should work on both. In this case, the thin factory padding is replaced. There is just Velcro on the padding to secure it to the goggles.
It was just stuck into place just below where my nose would be, I couldn't get it to totally block the bottom light but I actually use that little bit of peripheral vision. Since nothing penetrates the top or sides of the cover, there are no glares or fades.

A lot of DJI's explanations and shows do not explain this foam well There might not be much difference between me and you. FPV V2 goggles come with a closed cell foam gasket which is optionally replaced with the soft foam-filled gasket by this product. It takes some effort to get the replacement goggles to fit around your nose if your head size is around a Medium to Small. The stock goggles fit loosely if your head size is between a Small and Medium. The kit comes with a small strip of foam you can add, but the best way to make it work is to sacrifice the stock rubber gasket and cut out the nose part and use that You can see a photo of it here. This photo shows the new foam is thicker, but it isn't evident it is softer, allowing for a more comfortable The nose of my old foam was cut out, and a new plug was then attached- I'll admit it's a bit sloppy that they're not joined, but then again, it is I flew with the new foam for the first time today and there was no light leak.
I was skeptical at first because it seemed so cheap compared to the padding DJI provides, but WOW, this thing is so much more functional, comfortable, and light blocking. You should consider it if your face does not fit in their weird.
The DJI FPV Goggles are amazing, but I hate the hard face plates they come with, why wouldn't DJI include this foam face plate as well in the box, listen to Fatshark, who include so many different face plates The foam pad by DJI is significantly better, softer, thicker, deeper and almost completely eliminates the light. Unfortunately, DJI forgot to include some kind of nose piece so I had to make my own out of foam and double sided tape, so this is only being given three There is barely enough room in the foam pad for me to wear a small reader frame. There is at least a chance I can pass the foam pad with some type of glasses.
In the event that you are having problems with light leakage with your dji goggles, this foam is intended as a replacement for the "hard" foam that comes with them. With this foam your face will be better protected from light as it is softer and more flexible. This foam comes with a little piece to place on the nose piece, however the piece is very thin and a bit of light gets in, but for use on the face it is an excellent trade-off and the light entering is still considerably less.
The new foam is way more comfortable than the old Its only negative characteristic is that it does not seal properly around the nose.
The original one caused a considerable amount of light leak from the sides of my eyes on my face. With the small amount I use near my nose, it won't glare on the screen and I can wear it without issues.
This is worth the effort. Stylish and comfortable.
The stock problems aren't resolved, and the feel of the system is unpleasant.
