The ID of these rod ends is not specified by Traxxas. It appears to be closer to 4mm, but they are designed to fit part 3139 properly.

Can these be used on a rustler vxl?

They're the parts of a rustler shock that go on the ends.

This is something I'm pretty sure I did at a long time ago

Make sure you have 2742X on hand if your manual specifies it. This one works, but it's shaped like a hex. My spring retainers are rounded, and they don't fit properly on this. br>br>I'm pretty sure I did this at a LHS a long time ago, so take my advice. 2742X is the right choice if your rod ends are round.

It's a fantastic product, but it's not compatible with the stock bottom shock holder

It's a fantastic product, but it doesn't fit the rustler's stock bottom shock holder very well because it's rounded rather than hexed like these. However, it still functions well and is something I would recommend.

If you like to bash your Traxxas, you'll eventually break one of the rod ends. They're inexpensive and simple to replace, fortunately. These components are basic but effective. It's like new!.
